Slated tolaunch on September 17, the PC version ofFinal Fantasy 16will arrive just over a year after its original PS5 release. However, theFinal Fantasy 16demo will require at least 16GB of available SSD storage.
Despite its deep association withFinal Fantasy 14, the team at Creative Studio 3 has another project waiting in the wings. According toa Famitsu interview, which was translated by Twitter user @Genki_JPN, Yoshida said that Creative Studio 3 is working on a “small-scale” game project on top of itsongoing development ofFantasian: Neo Dimensionand theFinal Fantasyfranchise. Yoshida said thatFantasian: Neo Dimensionwas being co-developed alongside the game’s original developer, Mistwalker, led byFinal Fantasyseries creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. Although Yoshida did not say what the small-scale project would be, he added that Creative Studio 3 will keep challenging itself with different projects in the future.

Yoshida reiterated Square Enix’s approach to releasing games on as many platforms as possible, with the PC release ofFinal Fantasy 16being just one facet of it. In response to the Famitsu interview,Final Fantasyfans took to social media to chip in their guesses at what Creative Studio 3’s next project could be. The highly-anticipatedremakes ofFinal Fantasy TacticsandFinal Fantasy 9were among the most suggested by fans, with some pointing out that a remake would be a comparatively smaller-scale work in contrast to a newFinal Fantasymainline title altogether.
Betweenfuture content updates forDawntrailand the continued work on both theFantasianandFinal Fantasy 16ports, Creative Studio 3’s schedule may be one of its busiest yet. It remains to be seen when Yoshida’s team will fully unveil this unannounced project.
