Fallout 76has had a vast number of major content updates since it first launched, with no end in sight for what the future holds for the game. Recently at 2024 Quakecon,Fallout 76’s creative director, Jonathon Rush, even said that the studio will remain committed to bringing new updates to the game as long as players keep wanting more.

Needless to say, the sky is the limit forFallout 76and how long it will carry on. Apart from new major content updates, holiday events, and Seasonal Scoreboards though, future updates forFallout 76should consider revisiting a beloved feature and introducing more CAMP allies. More specifically,Fallout 76could use more CAMP allies like Beckett and Sofia Daguerre, and fewer “lite” CAMP allies who don’t have a unique quest or romance opportunity.

Fallout 76 Needs More CAMP Allies like Beckett and Sofia Daguerre

Fallout 76has a growing list of allies that players can recruit to provide special services, like unique buffs and an in-house vendor that stays in the player’s CAMP. Among these allies, two of them, Beckett and Sofia Daguerre, stand leagues above the rest. What makes Beckett and Sofia so special is that these are currently the only twoCAMP allies inFallout 76that have their own unique quest lines and romance opportunities, whereas the other allies are considered “lite” allies.

Fallout 76’s CAMP Allies Can Shine More Light on the Franchise’s Famous Factions

One reason whyFallout 76should introduce more CAMP allies with questlines is that this could be the key to giving some of the franchise’s famous factions a turn in the spotlight. In the case of Beckett, this ally’s quest takes players deep into Blood Eagle territory, one ofFallout 76’s local factionsknown for chems and violence and chem-related violence. Outside of Beckett’s quest, it’s rare for players to get this kind of opportunity to learn about an enemy faction like this, because more often than not, the player’s only interaction with Blood Eagles will typically be a fight to the death.

Beyond the Blood Eagles,Fallout 76still has plenty of unsolved mysteries surrounding some of its well-known factions, like the Enclave, Free States, and the Unstoppables, to name a few. So, introducing new allies related to these factions could be key to finally answering some of the community’s burning questions.

Fallout 76 Should Give the Existing Lite CAMP Allies Quests and Romance Opportunities

Even before introducing new allies with their own quests, future updates forFallout 76should consider adding questlines for some or all of the existing allies. It makes sense that some of the existing CAMP allies didn’t have unique questlines at first, because most of these allies were originally a limited-time reward from a Scoreboard/Season inFallout 76. Consequently, any players who didn’t unlock an ally during a given Season could be locked out of an entire questline. However, since past allies normally end up becoming permanently available via theGold Bullion vendors inFallout 76,there’s no excuse why these allies shouldn’t deserve their own questlines – or romance opportunities with the player.

Most CAMP allies can be purchased from the Gold Bullion vendors, while other allies need to be found around the map in special encounters, or earned during a specificSeasonal Scoreboard inFallout 76.

Fallout 76already has plenty of allies who are more than deserving of a questline to further explore their character. For instance, Maul is a relatively civilized super mutant, and this kind of phenomenon is a rare occurrence throughout the Fallout franchise games. Players can learn parts of Maul’s origin story through his dialogue, but a conversation doesn’t do justice to this character’s unique nature, whereas a questline more reasonably could. This is just one example, whereas all the existing CAMP allies inFallout 76arguably deserve to have their own questlines and romance opportunities.
