The Pitt expedition forFallout 76was released in September 2022, opening up the title to a new brand of gameplay with endless possibilities. Not only can Expeditions be used to offer brief glimpses into unique never-before-seen franchise locations, but they can also be smartly used to offer fantastic insights into locations that have already appeared throughoutFallout’s history.
Despite this utility, only one other Expedition has been released forFallout 76, withthe Atlantic City Expeditionbeing released in December 2023. Atlantic City was introduced via this Expedition, marking its debut in theFalloutfranchise, with the location’s in-game focus on debauchery and gambling being very reminiscent of the themes that helped makeNew Vegasso memorable.
Of course, the difference in terrain and the involved factions of Atlantic City andNew Vegasare more than enough to make aNew VegasExpedition stand out as unique, and there is a clear demand for this kind of content within the franchise’s community.New Vegashas always been considered a cult-classicFalloutgame, still possessing a dedicated community to this day, andmany fans have been hoping for aFallout New Vegas 2ever since the game was released in 2010.
New Vegas Already Has a Place in the Future of the Fallout Franchise

Older fans of the franchise will be equally excited to simply revisit the world ofNew Vegas, withFallout 76’s setting taking place almost 200 years prior to the events ofFallout: New Vegas. Prior toMr. House’s influence on the city,New Vegaswas characterized as a lawless city in disrepair, and it would be fascinating to see what this would look like in-game so long before theNew Vegasthat fans have come to know and love. Not only would aFallout 76Expedition centered aroundNew Vegasgive great insight into just how much Mr. House would go on to repair and stabilize the location, but it would also thrust the city back into the forefront of the IP, ready for its involvement in the future ofFallout’s massively successful TV show.
