F1 Manager 24puts players in the shoes of a Formula 1 team principal, complete with all the responsibilities that such a role entails. Rather than racing from behind the steering wheel, players will have to use data, strategy and development in order to be competitive. From tire compounds and fuel loads to the very training and production facilities themselves, players will becharged with overseeing the entire workings of the team, as well as being able to dramatically impact races with the right set of strategies and priorities.

One of the most crucial parts of any race is the pit stop. These moments can make or break a race, with a smooth pit stop sometimes enabling drivers to gain positions, while a poorly executed stop can ruin or even terminate a driver’s race entirely. Fortunately, players have plenty of control when it comes to their pit crew, but sometweaking and management may be requiredin order to achieve the best possible results.

The Sporting Director’s Role

The first thing to check when it comes to pit crew performance is the ability of the currently assigned Sporting Director. Under the Staff tab, players can see all the key roles and who fills them, as well as being able tonegotiate contracts and even scout potential replacements. The Sporting Director has four main stats: Training, Aptitude, Leadership and Processes. These stats will effect the development of the Pit Crew in particular.

Trainingwill affect their overall skill gain as they follow training plans, whileAptitudeincreases the upper limit of their potential skill gain. These skills can be numerically monitored via the Pit Crew Development screen.Leadershipwill have an effect on pressure scenarios, decreasing pit stop times and lowering the chance of mistakes. A higher Leadership stat will also mean that when mistakes are made, the team will suffer less as a result.Processeswill affect the pit crew’s fatigue, with a higher Processes number giving the team more stamina. It should be clear how the Sporting Director’s abilities will directly impact the performance of the Pit Crew. Additionally, players can set up training schedules for the Pit Crew with different objectives in mind.

How To Speed Up Pit Stops

In addition to the Sporting Director, players can also customize the training of the Pit Crew via the Pit Crew icon in the Staff tab. From this screen, players can set up theTraining Scheduleof the Pit Crew under theDevelopmenttab. Here, the Training Schedule can be altered and players can see the different training options which will impact the crew’s attributes as well as their fatigue. Ideally, the crew will have the lowest fatigue possibleheading into the next race weekend, while not losing too many attribute points at the same time.

Players can choose from a number of presets for the Training Schedule such as Balanced, Pit Stop Errors, Pit Stop Time, Car Building and Fatigue Reduction. Pit Stop Time is obviously the best one when it comes to making stops faster during a race, but it is worth keeping an eye on Fatigue too. The higher the Fatigue, the more likely the team are tomake costly mistakes when it is most important. In addition to the training presets, players can also customize the focus ofPit Stop Drills. These focuses include Raise and Lower Car, Wheel Gun, Used Tyres Off, New Tyres On, Tyres and Release. Check the Pit Crew’s attributes to see which will be most necessary. Generally, Wheel Gun and Tyres will reap the most rewards.
