There are technically five planets inStar Wars Outlawsincluding Cantonica, Akiva, Kijimi, Tatooine, and Toshara. However, Cantonica is very limited meaning that players will begin with Kay Vess there and then they will return later for a heist mission. There’s not much exploring to be done so it’s not worth discussing in the overall ranking.

It is nice to seeStar Wars Outlawsacknowledge Cantonica though since the city of Canto Bight was heavily featured inStar Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi. It’s a gambling city full of criminals which makes for a good intro to the game. Moving past Cantonica, let’s discuss what makes the rest of thesefour planets are great inStar Wars Outlaws. There will be spoilers.

Exploring a city on Kijimi in Star Wars Outlaws

4Kijimi

An Icy Planet Consisting Pretty Much Of Just One City

Kijimi is one of the three planets that players can travel to once they fix their ship on Toshara. It is anicy planet, like Hoth, and it seemingly consists of one city. There is a mission that is part of the main quest that will take players into an old factory but that is pretty much the only offsite location on Kijimi. There is not a lot of variety on this planet, to say the least, but the city isn’t small either. Players will find themselves lost among all of the shops and alleys they can explore and there are plenty of NPCs that will offer players side quests in the city.

It’s just not a lot of terrain to cover compared to the game’s other three planets. The main Faction presence on Kijimi is the Ashiga Clan run by Queen Ashiga. They are part of an insect-like race that is part of a hive mind although every character seemingly has their own will. It’s a bit complicated for a Star Wars race but the inner workings are seemingly unimportant to the main plot. What players need to focus on is either helping Queen Ashiga, or her daughter Krisk, to get what they came to Kijimi for aka an explosives expert named Ank Parako. The overall political plot is engaging, and the ice effects look nice, but again, Kijimi lacks the variety that the other planets are brimming with making it a less fun planet to explore.

Exploring a city on Tatooine in Star Wars Outlaws

3Tatooine

A Desert Planet Devoid Of Nature But With Lots To Explore

Tatooine is an all-time classic planet as it appeared in the very first film in the franchise. It’s where both the great Darth Vader and his son Luke Skywalker began their journeys. It’s an important planet despite it being a desolate wasteland and that’s whereStar Wars Outlawscomes in. It’s probably the most open area in the game without a lot of things getting in the way besides big rock faces. The towns are pretty barren too like Mos Eisley which houses the famous bar wherein Luke and Obi-Wanmeet Han Solofor the first time.

The coolest part of this planet isJabba the Hutt’s Palacewhich acts as a set piece for one of the game’s most important missions. Afterward, players can come and go as they please by taking on missions or just seeing the sights like Jabba the Hutt and all of his Hutt Cartel cronies including Bib Fortuna. There are tons of other notable races and organizations on Tatooine including the Jawas and the Tusken Raiders. It’s nostalgic for sure but the big dusty dunes don’t make for an engaging area to explore in a video game.

Exploring the wilderness of Toshara in Star Wars Outlaws

2Toshara

Plenty Of Diversity From Mountains To Forests

Toshara is the planet players will crash land on after they escape Cantonica. It’s a great first setting forStar Wars Outlawsand a good planet forany open-world gamein general. It’s wide with a diverse set of biomes from grassy plains to forests to big red cliffs to streams and beyond. It’s still not the most lush planet on the list but life is certainly thriving on Toshara in both the people and wildlife aspects. It also has a lot of Factions and organizations present on the planet which will help players form a decent idea of what they will be getting into with that portion of the gameplay.

Pleasing oneFaction inStar Wars Outlawswill displease another which in turn will affect what rewards players can get. The planet is mostly run by the Pyke Syndicate who controls the biggest city, Mirogana, along with other sects of the planet. Also present are the various Imperial outposts including massive bases that players will infiltrate for one quest or another. Some of the coolest parts of the planet are hidden behind main or side quests like the massive ship that crashed in the woods years ago and is now overgrown with plants. It’s like something out of the Sony-basedHorizonseries and these treats make Toshara fun to explore.

Exploring a city on Akiva in Star Wars Outlaws

1Akiva

A Lush Planet Of Jungles And Lakes

Toshara comes in at a very close second because of the diversity but Akiva is number one because it looks more pristine. There are a lot of ruins to be sure, but despite that, everything seems to be thriving. It’s like a hidden planet where only the elite get to go to relax despite it still being run by criminal organizations. It’s truthfully not a vacation planet for the people of theStar Warsfranchise but it certainly will feel that way for video game players who look forward to escaping to foreign lands. They can explore a deep jungle environment with tons of cliffs and better yet a whole archipelago of small islands.

Players will gain a new part for their Speeder so that they can glide on lakes as well as deep rivers. It’s not quite a sailing game on the level of another Ubisoft game,Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, but it’s still enthralling to scoot over bodies of water. There are some great inside locations too including anabandoned droid factorythat now serves as a secret Rebel Alliance base. There are other treats in store for players including some well-known characters making cameos but let’s not spoil things too much. Akiva will probably be the last planet players will explore and thankfullyStar Wars Outlawsmanages not to disappoint. The only downside is that it can be tricky to get around some of the thicker jungle and rocky sections but by this point in the adventure, players should be used to driving their Speeders around skillfully.
