Players who have been anxiously awaiting the release ofEnotria: The Last Songcan now officially hop into the game. The Italian-inspired soulslike title has been released globally for both consoles and PC, giving fans a chance to experience the full game past the already robust demo released earlier this year. Players can now begin their journey through three separate regions, starting in the area of Quinta and progressing through a world gripped by a powerful force known as the Canovaccio. This affliction has thrust the world ofEnotria: The Last Songinto turmoil, creating a “never-ending play,” in which actors are forced to adhere to a script beyond their control.

Fans of the soulslike genre will find themselves right at home with Enotria: The Last Song, thanks to its punishing yet fluid combat and maze-like level design. There are many paths to explore throughout the release, and players will find all sorts of weapons to collect. In fact, there are over 120 different weapons for players to find, spread across 8 different weapon classes. These weapons scale with various stats, giving players freedom to find a weapon in each classification that suits their needs and chosen build. There are also 8 different Parry modifiers that will change exactly how the player’s parry works, allowing them to create situational builds that they can quickly swap to on the fly with Enotria: The Last Song’s helpful loadout system. Players will also gain access to 45 spells, which can be used at various ranges to help in certain combat situations.

Combat is the crux of Enotria: The Last Song, with a heavy focus on parrying and dodging attacks to “unravel” enemies in order to deal heavy damage to them. But combat isn’t the only aspect to the adventure through Quinta and its surrounding areas. Enotria: The Last Song separates itself from the rest of the soulslike games available on the market thanks to its sunny and well-lit locations. There are still darker areas present throughout each region but the Mask of Change will find themselves heading through bright and lively zones that seem out of place in the genre. It’s a nice change of pace and will help players better appreciate all of the work that went into the creation of the world of Enotria: The Last Song.

Developers spent a lot of time crafting a game world that draws heavy influence from Italian art history and mythology. The end result is a world teeming with beautiful architecture and influence, creating a space that is begging to be explored and appreciated. All of this is underlined by beautifully-crafted Italian-inspired musical elements that borrow from the modern Italian music scene as well as the Italian Renaissance. Enotria: The Last song is a beautifully crafted adventure that is just as engaging to look at as it is to play through.
