Summary

A strange yet helpfulElden Ringbug transported a player to another boss arena entirely after dying to Dragonlord Placidusax.Elden Ring’s massively anticipatedShadow of the ErdtreeDLC was released earlier this summer to high praise from fans and critical acclaim. As one of the biggest releases of the year so far, it’s no surprise that theElden RingDLC has already made its way into the Game of the Year conversation, regardless of its status as DLC.

WhileShadow of the Erdtreeintroduced several new bosses that many feel are tougher than any from the base game, some baseElden Ringbosses are still incredible challenges. One such boss isDragonlord Placidusax, a massive two-headed dragon found inCrumbling Farum Azula, a late-game legacy dungeon located over the water north of Caelid. The only way to get to Crumbling Farum Azula is by way of teleportation after a crucial story moment at the summit of the Mountaintops of the Giants. Though an optional boss, those daring enough to seek battle with Dragonlord Placidusax are in forone ofElden Ring’s toughest battles.

One unluckyElden Ringplayer was sent to an entirely different location after falling to the Dragonlord. On Reddit, EdelgardsFootRest posted a short clip of them dying to Dragonlord Placidusax and respawning inQueen Rennala’s boss chamberat the Academy of Raya Lucaria all the way inLiurnia of the Lakes. Considering where Crumbling Farum Azula is located in the Lands Between,Elden Ringtossed the player pretty much across the entire map. Luckily, Crumbling Farum Azula has several Sites of Grace to teleport back to.

Elden Ring Player Gets Sent To Rennala After Dying To Dragonlord Placidusax

Many commenters under the post joked that the game was sending the player back to respec their build, since players can return to Rennala at any point after beating her to spend Larval Tears to change their stats and alter their builds. Out of all theSites of Grace in the Lands Between, it’s funny, and quite convenient, thatElden Ringsent this player back to Rennala, especially after a defeat to the Dragonlord. Obviously, this is a simple bug and not a purposeful design element that FromSoftware integrated to push players towards respec after dying to bosses. EdelgardsFootRest didn’t tell whether they altered their stats with Rennala’s help after being unexpectedly sent to her, though they likely went right back to the Dragonlord for another bout.

It seems like this sort of bug has become somewhat common after themost recentElden Ringpatch, as more than a handful of players in the post’s comments have experienced similar instances of respawning at the wrong Site of Grace. Whether FromSoftware is aware of the bug is unknown, but if it is, players can surely expect a fix in the next patch.
