Summary
Bandai Namco and Dimps have released a newDragon Ball Xenoverse 2trailer for the Future Saga Expansion, with the next DLC chapter being focused on the Gods of Destruction fromDragon Ball Super. Eight years afterDragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s initial release, the game is still being supported to this day. Dimps and Bandai Namco have been periodically updating the game with free updates and paid DLC, adding new playable characters and transformations. One of the biggest content updates is a new storyline exclusive to the game, focused on the villainous Fu.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s four-part Future Saga Expansionfocuses on Fu, a villain who has been traveling through time and experimenting with Dragon Ball’s history to create numerous What If scenarios. These range from Tapion coming to Future Trunks' aid in the Goku Black Saga, to giving Vegeta the Super Saiyan God form earlier than when he achieves it in the series' timeline. Fu’s time-traveling experiments continue in Chapter 2, where he is messing with the characters fromDragon Ball Super, specifically the Pride Troopers and Gods of Destruction.
In this new teaser trailer for Chapter 2 of the Future Saga, Fu has pitted Toppo and Dyspo of Universe 10’s Pride Troopers against three ofDragon Ball Super’s destroyer deities, the Gods of Destruction: specifically Beerus, Champa, and Belmod. Goku himself somehow gets involved as well, where he has to fend off an energy blast that could destroy the planet, leading to the Gods of Destruction and Pride Troopers teaming up to fight against a powered-up Fu, who can somehow match them all.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s Future Saga Teases Ultra Supervillain Jiren
The trailer also teases an Ultra Supervillain form for Jiren, the sametransformation that Fu granted Goku Black and Vegeta in Chapter 1of the Future Saga. The Ultra Supervillain form gives Jiren a pinkish aura, turns his irises into the same color, and has a crystal sticking out of him. The trailer teases Jiren and Fu teaming up to fight against the player’s time patrol protagonist, along with a clash between Ultra Supervillain Jiren and Super Saiyan Blue Goku. Near the end of the trailer, Goku taps into his Mastered Ultra Instinct transformation, ready to take Jiren on and stop his out-of-control power. A release date for the second chapter hasn’t been provided yet, other than it will be “coming soon.”
Seeing asXenoverse 2is still getting post-launch DLC characters to this day, like theSuperversions of Videl and Android 18, content for the game won’t be slowing down any time soon. 2024 is looking to be an exciting year forDragon Ballfans, withthe highly anticipatedDragon Ball: Sparking Zero,Dragon Ball Daimaanime, and now a future update forXenoverse 2coming soon.
