It features a number of characters from across theDragon Balltimeline, including more recent media likeDragon Ball Super. Bandai Namco has been steadily releasing trailers over the last couple of months, focused on story arcs fromDragon Ball Z.

This trend started withDragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s Namek and Frieza Saga trailer in late July, focusing on the iconic Frieza’s transformations and his henchmen. In August, fans got a trailer based on the Androids and Cell Sagas, which showed off Dr. Gero and his malicious mechanical androids, Cell and his iconic transformations, along with the Super Saiyan 2 form Gohan uses during the end of the arc. Many fans suspected thatSparking Zerowould show off characters from the Buu Saga next, which was confirmed through a set of V-Jump scans released in August. The Majin Buu Saga character trailer starts with a short clip of the game’s story mode, where Goku has come back from the dead to participate in the World Martial Arts tournament. Following that, it shows off the Great Saiyaman, the superhero alter ego of Son Gohan, who is fighting Spopovich, a minor antagonist from the Buu Saga, followed by the reveal of Babidi. Babidi returns as a playable character as well, retaining his moveset fromBudokai Tenkaichi 3, where he summons his minions like Pui Pui to fight on his behalf. Dabura, who was alreadyconfirmed forSparking Zero’s roster, faces off against Super Saiyan Adult Gohan as well.

The trailer then shows offMajin Buu’s various incarnations, which includes his innocent Fat Buu, the slimmer and more vile Evil Buu, followed by Super Buu and his transformations after absorbing Gotenks and Gohan. Ultimate Gohan was also confirmed in the trailer, along with Kid Buu, the final opponent of the overall Buu Saga. Various iconic moments from the source material were recreated in this trailer, such as Vegeta’s Final Explosion sacrifice, as well as Goku’s Super Spirit Bomb that ends up killing Kid Buu for good.

While theMajin Buu Saga was the final saga of the originalDragon Ballmanga, it doesn’t mean this is the final trailer forSparking Zero. Based on the remaining gaps seen at the end of the Buu Saga trailer, 26 fighters forSparking Zero’s roster have yet to be revealed, and there’s only a little over a month left before the game’s October 11 launch.
