September 6 marked the second anniversary ofDisney Dreamlight Valleylaunching as an early access title. Gameloft Montreal treated it to a full-fledged release in December 2023. And while the life sim initially debuted with only a couple dozen characters, the developer has been adding more to it on a near-monthly basis since its early access beginnings.
Present and Future Disney Dreamlight Valley Villagers Recapped in Fan Illustration
Looking to illustrate how far the game has come, one Reddit user has recently shared a concept that combines the artworks of all ofDisney Dreamlight Valley’s existing villagers, as well as the near-future additions to the game’s character roster. The latter group is spearheaded by Timon and Pumbaa, both of whom have already been confirmed to be coming toDisney Dreamlight Valleyas part of aLion King-themed update that’s scheduled to roll out sometime in October 2024.
The fan concept also includes Sally fromThe Nightmare Before Christmas. This particular villager addition hasn’t yet been outright confirmed by Gameloft, although the developer did hint at it in early August 2024, when it shared itslatestDisney Dreamlight Valleycontent roadmap. Not included in the image is Peter Pan, who some fans have long suspected is on his way to the game.Disney Dreamlight Valleyeven already has a Peter Pan Universe filter for furniture, which is a pretty strong indication that Gameloft is planning to add content from this franchise at some point in the future.
Most Post-Launch Disney Dreamlight Valley Villagers Have Been Free
Gameloft has added 24 characters to its popular life sim since the game debuted in early access two years back. The latest of them arrived in late August 2024 as part of the Treasures of Time expansion, whichallowedDisney Dreamlight Valleyplayers to unlock Jafar as a villager. Premium additions like Jafar have so far been an exception rather than the norm, with free villagers outnumbering them approximately four to one.
The next bigDisney Dreamlight Valleycontent drop is coming in October 2024, and will introduce the aforementioned duo fromThe Lion King. Gameloft is then planning to follow up on that move with a late December update, which some fans suspect will include Sally. The developer recently confirmed it will host another one of its livestreams outlining the game’s future content additions before the end of the year. This broadcast is expected to at the very least tease the game’s roadmap for the first half of 2025.
