Fishing is one of the few semi-AFK activities inDiablo Immortalthat allows players to farm XP and collect valuable items. However, newcomers might find it challenging to unlock this feature and fully exploit its benefits, especially since not everyone starts theirDiabloadventure with a fishing rod. This guide will cover the basics of fishing and provide detailed instructions for newDiablo Immortalplayers on how to catch their first fish and work towards completing their Angler’s Log.
How to Unlock Fishing
To unlock the fishing mechanics, you need to advance through the campaign until you encounter Marnix, a fisherman NPC. During his quest, he will provide you with a fishing rod and instruct you on how to fish in the nearby lakes.
To check how many tasks you need to complete before unlocking the fishing activity,go to the Codex menu and review the Activities tab. Look for the card titled “Fishing Tasks.” Once you’ve completed all the required tasks, you’ll be ready to start fishing across the map.
How to Catch a Fish
When you approach a lake or river suitable for fishing, a fishing rod icon will appear on the right side of the screen, next to your skills. Tap this icon to cast your rod into the water and wait for a fish to bite.
A timer will be displayed at the top of the screen, divided into three colored segments: Grey, Blue, and Golden. This timer shows your chances of catching a Common, Uncommon, or Rare fish. The longer you wait, the greater your chances of landing aLegendary or Mythic fish.
Golden
Very Rare
Once a fish bites your bait, the timer will be replaced by a moving bar. You need to tap the basic attack button in sync with this bar, aiming to keep the indicator within its boundaries. (The fishing mechanics inDiablo Immortalare pretty similar tothose inStardew Valley.)
Each time you let go of a fish, you will consume one bait. However, you can purchase additional baits from the fishermen.
What to Do With Caught Fishes
You can sell your fish to fisherman NPCs like Marnix. They will assess your catches based on their rarities rather than their weight. Additionally, trading in fish might earn you extra rewards, such as Dust, Mystery Equipment, andXP for leveling up fast.
Fishing Locations
You can fish in and around Ashwold Cemetery, Frozen Tundra, and Bilfen. Each location features its own unique fish species. To catchall 40 fish types inDiablo Immortal, you’ll need to fish in each of these areas.
To check how many fish you’ve caught, go to the Bestray menu and select the “Angler’s Log.” Here, you can view your records and see if you hold the record for catching the heaviest fish on your server.
Some catches only show up during the daytime or nighttime. You must schedule your fishing accordingly to complete the Angler’s Log.
How to Unlock New Fish Rods
To unlock additional fishing rods, you need to catch the first 35 fish in the Angler’s Log to unlock the Lancewood and Glimmerwood fishing rods. Note that fishing rods are cosmetic items. They neither affect your efficiency nor your catch speed.
