The filming featured Christian Slater as Harry Morgan and Reno Wilson as his partner, Bobby Watt. Both actors are dressed in 70s-era gear, and they appear to be filming a scene that involves a police sting operation, involving an old school Miami police car.
Other set photos appear to show a crime scene with Harry providing support to one of the victim’s family members. A dead body and a hearse can also be seen, andthis could be a recreation of Dexter’s mother, Laura Moser’s crime scene.Alternatively, it could be a different case that has links to events taking place back in the 1991 timeline.
The 1970s Flashbacks Could Reveal A Different Version Of Events That Led Up To Laura Moser’s Murder
Mystery has always surrounded the death of Dexter’s mother, Laura Moser. Dexter only had his memories to rely upon, and these had been repressed for many years due to severe trauma. However, he was able to find out who killed his mother, and he dealt with them accordingly on his kill table. But Dexter was never able to question his father properly about his true involvement in the case, as he’d passed away long before the titular serial killer began digging into the past.
The confirmation of the 1970s set filming taking place last month could point to the possibility that the lead up and aftermath of Laura Moser’s murder will be exploredin depth. This time, it’ll be seen through the eyes of Harry Morgan, and the potential involvement of newDexter: Original Sincharacter, Bobby Watt. Christian Slater hinted that new information about the past could be revealed inDexter: Original Sin, during a recentinterview with Collider:
There’s also things that Dexter doesn’t know that happened with Harry as a character, so those are the things that I’m really excited about and do give, I think, a greater insight into who this guy was.
This is a very interesting point, and if Slater is referring to Laura Moser’s death, the audience will be put into a position of knowing more than Dexter.Who really was Harry Morgan? The originalDexterseries only shows him in flashbacks from Dexter’s point of view, and asDexter’s ghost. There is a lot more to this character, and it appears his past will be explored, and this could shed some light on howDexter developed his dark passenger.

Dexter: Original Sinwill debut on Paramount+ with Showtime in December 2024,and it will consist of 10 episodes. As for new characters,Sarah Michelle Gellar will play CSI Chief, Tanya MartinandPatrick Dempsey will play Aaron Spencer, the captain of Miami Metro Homicide. As previously mentioned, Reno Wilson will play Harry Morgan’s partner, Bobby Watt, but not much more is known about this character. However, from his appearance in the 1970s set photos, it appears he knows Harry Morgan very well, and might be privy to some of his dark secrets.
