Summary
A new survey fromDead by Daylightpublisher/developer Behaviour Interactive may contain some hints as to which horror crossovers the game could be seeing in the future.Dead by Daylightalready features a wide variety of crossover content in its Killers and Survivors, but there’s still plenty of untapped potential in the horror genre.
Launched in 2016,Dead by Daylighthas held about 20 crossoverssince its release. These have ranged from collaborations that do little more than add a new Killer to ones that support a fully immersive experience by also throwing in themed maps and Survivors. Past crossovers have mergedDead by Daylightwith the worlds of other video games likeResident EvilandSilent Hillas well as other popular horror properties likeStranger Things.
The new survey was launched earlier this week and promoted by the officialDead by DaylightTwitter page. It contains numerous questions regarding fan enjoyment of the game as a whole and in past events. But some people taking the survey will also be greeted with a list of 76 different intellectual properties and asked to select which one they would be most interested in seeing have a crossover promotion with the game, with franchises covering the realms of anime, manga, movies, television, and other video games. While most of the options are horror-centric, there are some less traditional choices among the mix, ranging from games likeFalloutandDevil May Cryto, humorously, children’s television showTeletubbies.
Not everyone takingthe surveywill get to see the question that asks them to select from the above list. When Game Rant took the survey prior to this article’s publication, a prompt simply asked the user to type in the name of one franchise they would like to see added to the game, and a follow-up question asked whether that franchise should be incorporated as a chapter or a cosmetic collection. The game’s social media team confirmed that not all survey respondents will get the same questions, which allows the team to gather different types of data onDead by Daylight’s Killersand other topics.
Even as it looks to the future,September has been a big month forDead by Daylight, featuring the limited-time return of Lights Out and Chaos Shuffle modes, as well as sales and discounts on some characters. This month also marked the release ofThe Casting of Frank Stone, a Supermassive Games-developed narrative horror adventure set in the world ofDead by Daylight.
