The future of the game looks equally bright, as the spin-off gameThe Casting of Frank Stoneis set to launch at the start of September, as well asthe long-awaited collaboration withFive Nights at Freddy’sfinally being confirmed for release in the summer of 2025. Players ofDead by Daylightwon’t have to look so far into the future for new content, however, as Behaviour Interactive has shown off its roadmap plan for everything coming to the game over the coming weeks.
Shown in a tweet from the officialDead by DaylightTwitter account, a full roadmap for September 2024 has been revealed, splitting upcoming content into four weeks. Starting September 3, players ofDead by Daylightwill be able to enjoy a brand-new skin for Chucky, a collection of Autumn-themed skins, a double Bloodpoints event, and a 30% “Slasher Legends” sale, which will presumably be a discount oncharacters from the various slasher franchisespresent inDead by Daylight. Week two will seeCastlevania-themed skins for Mikaela Reid and Kate Denson, as well as the return of Lights Out, a limited-time game mode that removes perks, HUD, and severely limits the visibility of all players. Week three marks the start of a new public test build (PTB) and the start of the annual Fire Moon Festival, which will introduce a new collection of skins. Finally, week four marks the most exciting news for players: the return of the popular Chaos Shuffle mode.
Dead by Daylighthas been experimenting with branching outside the usual gameplay loop with various limited-time game modes in recent months. Many of these have been met with approval from players, so much so thatthe 2v8 mode forDead by Daylighthad its runtime extended due to its popularity. A rerun of Chaos Shuffle has been highly requested since the event first launched, so fans are excited to see it return. The new Lights Out mode appears to be theming itself around the recently-releasedCastlevaniaDLC, but how exactly this will play out in-game is yet to be seen.
