Summary

There are some very obviousDead By Daylightreferences inThe Casting Of Frank Stone, such as regular mentions of The Entity and the occasional generator repair. There may, however, be several subtle easter eggs players miss as they are swept up in the spooky narrative adventure.

The Casting Of Frank Stonecollectibles include some funDBDKiller references in particular, but there are many more that fly under the radar of even the most eagle-eyed fan.Although major spoilers will be avoided as much as possible, there may be some mild spoilers below, so venture on with caution.

Maddi and red scratch marks

13Red Scratch-Marks

Run, Survivor, Run!

The very firstDead By Daylightreference inThe Casting Of Frank Stoneis red scratch marks. As Maddi walks through a dream world, these appear behind her. Unless the player is looking behind Maddi as she walks, they may just get missed.

Red scratch marks are usually left behind as a Survivor runs from the Killer inDead By Daylight. These marks are meant to help the Killer track the Survivors as they attempt to flee, so why are they following Maddi? Who is tracking her down?

legion smiley pin

12Smiley Face Pin

An Icon Of The Legion

A tiny reference toDead By Daylightwas found by Chris in the Curiosity Shop. A pin badge is so small, that it could be overlooked easily unless the player heads to the right of the store and checks out the table nearby.

The Legion’ssmiley face pin is one of the many optional add-ons used by the murderous gang of teens. The sarcastic smile is a bad omen for any Survivor as it causes the blindness effect. Is this a warning that Chris is blind to the dangers coming?

television set

11Creepy Television Sets

Expecting Sadako To Crawl Out At Any Moment

The television set in the Curiosity Shop is a visual portal to the one inside Gerant Manor. Eagle-eyedDead By Daylightplayers will recognize the old-fashioned style of TV as ones similar to those found in The Entity’s realm.

Not only can players find these sets in licensed maps such asHalloween’sHaddonfield andThe Saw’sGideon’s Meatpacking Plant, but they are also a key component inThe Onryō’s gameplay.Dead By Daylightplayers will notice the sets but hope nothing will crawl out of them.

chris in the curiosity shop looking at mannequins

10Ominous Mannequins

Straight From Shelter Woods

Seeing mannequins in a junk shop may not be all that curious at first, but in this universe it is worth assuming everything is aDead By Daylightreference. These creepy figures are found by Chris in the Curiosity Shop quite early in the game.

Shelter Woods, home to theSkull Merchant’sbase, has similar figures standing around waiting to be used for target practice. They are eerie and off-putting, but then again, aren’t all mannequins?

chris in the pharmacy looking at a red med kit

9Emergency Med Kit

It is dangerous out there, take a med kit! Unfortunately for Chris, this med kit is just for show. It is found in the drugstore when the teens are looking for somewhere to fix their camera.

The iconic red med kit with a white cross is essential inDead By Daylight. If a player needs to heal a teammate quickly, they do a great job. Since they were changed a while back they do less of a good job at self-healing, however.

leaflet for lightbringer estate

8Lightbringer

(And Other Brief References)

SomeDead By Daylightreferences will be very easily missed unless the player looks in specific places such as noticeboards, or listen to conversations carefully. There is also a brief mention of Lery’s Institute (realm ofThe Doctor) later on in the game.

InDead By Daylight, the Lightbringer emblem is only awarded to players who complete their main objective. A warning perhaps? While Lery’s Institute is an indoor map inDead By Daylightbased on the fictional medical facility. Both of these references are quick and could pass a player by if they aren’t paying attention.

huntress bunny mask

7Huntress Lullaby

Singing You To An Eternal Slumber

SomeDead By Daylightplayers missed the soft audio cue the first time they playedThe Casting Of Frank Stone. As Chris picks up this cute bunny mask belonging toThe Huntress, her deadly lullaby plays in the background.

Players get to see this Killer’s mask in Augustine’s museum later inThe Casting Of Frank Stone. It is a classic and recognizableDead By Daylightartifact but unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately?!) players don’t get to hear the lullaby again.

trickster in a music box

6Trickster Music Box

He’s Light On His Feet

Not many would peg Augustine as a K-Pop fan and yet here isJi-Woon Hakin her music box. The music box itself is an important object within this chapter but the figure in it might have been overlooked at first.

The Trickster flicks his blades at thefleeing Survivorswith style and panache, making him the ideal figure to set in a music box. His hair looks different but his coat and pants are instantly recognizable.

crow

5Crows

Spies From The Shadows

It wouldn’t be theDead By Daylightworld without crows. These seem to be The Entity’s favorite creatures as they feature in every map and are a mainstay of The Artist’s realm and more. This poor stuffed crow sits in the Curiosity Shop waiting for a new home.

These feathered friends give away player positions and can be used by both Killer and Survivors if they keep their eyes open. Crows fly and squawk when a player runs by or flies in circles around their heads when they stay still for too long.

coldwind farm diorama and totem

4A Totem On Coldwind Farm

If It Glows, It Goes

This totem is hidden in a diorama of Coldwind Farm in Gerant Manor. Once Maddi and Linda get this case open, a small puzzle needs to be solved, and right inside are these glowing bones.

InDead By Daylight, totems are used by both Killers and Survivors. Killers curse totems, giving them a red glow, while Survivors cleanse or bless totems. Blessing totems give them this blue glow, which means this particular totem has been blessed… But why, and by whom?
