Asdevelopment on theCyberpunk 2077sequel ramps up, fans were under the impression that support for the smash-hit RPG had come to an end. Back in March, the game’s director confirmed thatCyberpunk 2077would only receive smaller updates in the future as the studio had officially added all of the features and content that it set out to include in its post-launch support. However, exactly six months later, PC users have been treated to a pretty impressive update with a highly-requested feature.
In a surprise new update released on September 12, the PC version ofCyberpunk 2077finally received support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3, also known as FSR3. The graphic setting combines image upscaling with frame generation technologies to generate high-resolution frames at fast frame rates, according to CD Projekt Red. Previously,FSR3 was only available inCyberpunk 2077via a mod, but PC users will now be able to do away with the community-made mod and make use of the official support after updatingCyberpunk 2077to the latest version. To enable FSR3, players simply need to head to the in-game settings and navigate to the graphics tab where they will then be able to enable both FSR3 and FSR Frame Generation.
Although the new update is being heavily praised by the game’s community, there are plenty of users who have been left disappointed as the surprise update will likely break a plethora ofpopularCyberpunk 2077mods. Other players have alsotaken to Redditto express their dissatisfaction with the update only implementing FSR3, as opposed to FSR 3.1.
