Cuccos have an infamous reputation both in and outsideLegend of Zelda, and it’s no surprise they’ve returned inZelda: Echoes of Wisdom. If you do some exploring after the first dungeon, you may stumble upon Kakariko Village. Here, you can find cuccos outside their pen. Go further in the village, and you can speak to their owner to start a side quest called “Cuccos on the Loose.” It’s a simple quest with a worthwhile reward, so here’s where to find all five cuccos inEchoes of Wisdom.

Where to Find All Cuccos
Kakariko Village is locatednortheast, just below Eldin. You can visit this area as soon as youcomplete the Suthorn Ruins, but you may want to collect some Echoes before taking on the side quest. The Crawler Echo and the Trampoline Echo will especially come in handy.
Speak to the lady outside the cucco pen in the western area of Kakariko Village. She’ll want you to find and return all five cuccos home. The good news is the cuccos can only be foundinKakariko Village, so there’s no reason for you to take the north path out of the village. you’re able to pick up cuccos by tapping A-button, and either throw (A-button again) or place them (B-button) in the pen. If Zelda is holding a cucco and jumps off a ledge, she can glide for a short distance.
Cucco #1
By the Entrance
If you enter Kakarikofrom the eastern gate, you’ll see a cucco standing by the house behind the old man. Pick it up, and return it to the pen.
Cucco #2
By the Store
Take the stairs south of Kakariko’s central square, and the path will split towards the left and right. Take theright pathto find Kakariko’s general store. There should be a cucco roaming outside it.
Cucco #3
By the Dojo
Down the left path from the central stairs, across from where you got cucco #2, you’ll see two buildings: a regular house and a dojo. Right in front of both of these houses, by the trees, is your third cucco.
You can also find a Waypoint stone. Activate it to unlock a fast-travel to Kakariko Village.
Cucco #4
By the Graveyard
Take the stores north of the square, and head towards the graveyard that overlooks the cucco pen. Here you’ll find cucco #4.
Cucco #5
On the Windmill
Cucco #5 is tricky to get, as its on top of thenortheast windmill(notthe northwest). To reach it, you’re going to need to get on top of the trees behind the windmill by using your Echoes. There are multiple ways to do this, but if you’ve picked up some Echoes on your way to Kakariko, then this should be no problem. Here are some ways to get cucco #5:

The Trampoline Echo can be found in Suthorn Village, right next to the village’s well.

What are Fairy Bottles?
Once you place the final cucco in the pen, you’re able to speak to the ownerto collect your reward. For completing “Cuccos on the Loose,” you’ll receive aFairy Bottle. You may or may not have collected a Fairy Bottle at this point in your playthrough. If you approach a fairy when one (or more) of the bottles in your inventory are empty, you can catch it. The fairy willl revive Zelda if she loses all her health/hearts. Thus, fairies and Fairy Bottles are very handy to have.
