Summary
Two weeks after its launch,Concordis set to go offline, and players are throwing themselves off the map to gain the game’s Platinum trophy. The launch ofConcordhas been a point of controversy in recent days, but the remaining players are grinding in order to secure in-game rewards.
Sony had high hopes forConcordleading up to its launch. The 5v5 hero shooter had the tough task of going up against games likeOverwatch 2, and it unfortunately did not succeed. Once the game launched on August 23,Concordfaced low salesand a lack of interest from many gamers. From criticisms of the game’s character design to controversy surrounding its $40 price tag in a genre that is often free-to-play, Sony announced this week thatConcordwould be taken offline, with players receiving full refunds.
Now thatConcord’s September 6 shutdownis only a short time away, players are throwing themselves off the map during matches in order to gain easy XP. In order to unlock the Platinum trophy, players have to hit level 100, which is a tall task to say the least.
Concord Players Are Throwing Themselves Off the Map For Easy XP
At the time of this writing, only 12Concordplayers have been able to unlock the Platinum trophy. Players have quickly discovered that throwing oneself off the map is the fastest way to get XP, but it might not be fast enough.Concordplayer Radec shared on Twitter that they had been grinding for an hour and only went from Level 44 to 45. Despitethe poor performance ofConcord, there are still dedicated players determined to get the elusive Platinum trophy, but many may not be able to succeed by the time the game gets taken offline on Friday.
Although the game is being taken offline, this may not be the total end forConcord. Developer Firewalk Studios has stated that the team behindConcordwill be looking into other options for the game in order to better reach players. This hopefully means that the game will opt for a free-to-play model like its fellow hero shooters and possiblyrework some ofConcord’s character designs. Until then, it will be interesting to see how many players are able to get the Living Legen trophy before September 6.
