Freedom Wars, a PlayStation Vita-exclusive title, is getting a modern remaster courtesy of its original developers. TitledFreedom Wars Remastered, the action game is slated for release on May 23, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. In the game, players face off against Abductors, large mechanical creatures, in order to collect their parts and craft better equipment. While defeating Abductors is the central objective, players must also rescue citizens trapped inside these unmanned robots before destroying them.

To reduce their sentences, Sinners join forces with others to gather resources or embark on rescue missions. By earning Entitlement Points, players can gain new rights with their wardens and unlock additional gameplay features.

Freedom Wars Remasteredwill introduce several enhancements, including 4K resolution, 60 FPS performance on PlayStation and PC, improved textures, an overhauled crafting system, more difficulty levels, and various other upgrades to its overall gameplay.Freedom Warsis considered one of thebest PS Vita-exclusive games, and now more players will finally get to experience it.

In an interview withPlayStation Blog Japan, Takashi Tsukamoto, the original director ofFreedom Warsat Dimps, mentioned that the team always wanted to make a sequel to the game, but the opportunity never arose. When Sony offered up the game’s license for a remaster, Dimps sought a publisher, and Bandai Namco stepped in, leading to the creation ofFreedom Wars Remastered.
