Yasunori Mitsuda is a well-known video game composer, having worked with Square Enix on a number of the company’s games and their various soundtracks. Aside fromChrono Trigger, he also worked with Nintendo on games likeKid Icarus Uprising, theXenoblade Chroniclesseries, andStella Glow.Yasunori Mitsuda was a guest composer forSea of Stars, working alongside Eric W. Brown for the game’s soundtrack, where Mitsuda wrote 10 different songs. Mitsuda will have a similar role inSea of Stars' “Throes of the Watchmaker” post-launch DLC.

Mitsuda announced the news on his company’sofficial website, stating that he will be a guest composer forSea of Stars' Throes of the Watchmaker DLC. The extent of his involvement in the DLC isn’t known at this time, but based on his previous work with Sabotage, he will write a few tracks for the game. Sabotage first announcedSea of Stars' Throes of the Watchmaker DLC in September, a month after the game’s launch. Sabotage has been mostly quiet about the DLC’s release date and progress, though fans were finally givenan update aboutSea of Stars' DLC earlier in August, which confirmed its Spring 2025 launch window.

Other content currently in development isSea of Stars' three-player co-op mode, Single Player+, where each player would be able to independently control one of the game’s three party members while exploring a map, similar to Square Enix’sSecret of Mana. Not much has been announced on that front either, other than that it is currently in development.

TheThroes of the Watchmaker DLC is set to expand uponSea of Stars' world, where it is focused on a carnival-themed clockwork area that the party explores, looking for a special pocket watch. The DLC will also feature a number of returning and new characters as well, including evil clones and a new party member called The Artificer. Fans are hoping the DLC will expand upon the Watchmaker and her role in the story ofSea of Stars.
