Having spent the past five years remaking the famedResident Evilfranchise, it looks like Capcom may be turning its sights to something new. TheResident Evilremakes rebuilt the games from the ground up, and whileDead Rising Deluxe Remasterdoesn’t deviate too hard from the source material, the blatant interest that Capcom has now placed in the franchise coupled with a small handful of minor changes to the storysuggests that the world ofDead Risingis getting a soft reboot. If this is the plan, a deluxe remaster forDead Rising 2is an ambitious but logical next step, given that many fans have said that combiningDead Rising 2with all of its DLC and expansion packs would make the remaster an instant buy for them.

While theDead Risingfranchise has taken several unexpected turns over the past 18 years, earlier games in the series are still beloved by many to this day. None of the later entries seemed togarner the same love as the first twoDead Risinggames, and if Capcom means to spend more time with the franchise going forward, a remaster of a beloved classic seems like a great way to start.
