However, major updates aren’t the only things happening toModern Warfare 3, as Sledgehammer Games launched a minor patch just a day later, on June 08, 2025. The patch fixed some glitches affecting playlist behavior and certain modes, but also included changes and fixes targeted at several weapons, including some of thebest guns in theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3meta. The tweaked weapons include recently adjusted guns like the Static-HV, as well as several weapons dating back toModern Warfare 2.
The new patch notes forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3are relatively short compared to the massive update that was the Season 6 launch patch, but are meaningful to fans of certain weapons. Thehighly popular Static-HV submachine gunreceived an additional minor nerf to its damage multiplier when hitting players in the upper arm, while the Kastov LSW light machine gun got a bug fix for its Gunsmith interface.
Meanwhile, some importedModern Warfare 2weapons like the Crossbow, Carrack .300, SA-B 50, and Basilisk all got minor buffs. The SA-B 50 marksman rifle in particular received a significant improvement to its lethality when targeting enemies' lower torsos, allowing it to score one-shot kills under some circumstances when hitting.
The follow-up patch toModern Warfare 3brings more changes on top of all the significant alterations introduced in Season 6. Reactions to the adjustments on social media seemed muted but generally positive, as fans of the guns that got buffed were happy to see their favorite weapons grow slightly stronger. Fans of the Static-HV were disappointed to see another nerf hit the popular SMG, but considered the additional change minor compared to those received at the start of the season.
Within its minimum damage range, the SA-B 50 is now capable of a 1-shot kill to the lower torso.
