These maps are described as “punishment grounds,” 6v6 arenas for players to fight it out. Drive Thru is a restaurant drenched in killer clown-theming. Not only is this a reference to the trope of killer clowns in horror media, but it’s also a strong nod to theTerrifierseries. Modern Warfare 3 Season 6 New Multiplayer Maps
Mad Cow’s style is more evocative of the slaughterhouse that characters in movies likeThe Texas Chainsaw Massacreare found in. Its straightforward connection to the aesthetic of classic horror may be why players feel likeHalloween’s Michael Meyers fits so perfectly here. Although glimpses of Michael can be seen in the trailer for these maps in Drive Thru, he is more prominently shown in Mad Cow. Ultimately, it will be up to players to decide whichhorror icons show up as they partake in The Haunting.
Although fans may appreciate the presence of these characters, likeThe Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon as Operatorsfor the upcoming season, the maps are part of the vibe and can add to the entire experience. In addition, there are five new Shipment variant maps on the way for Season 6: Arena Shipment, Stay High, Bit-ment, Ghost Ship, and Sunny Shipment. It seems like there will be plenty for players to engage with this season.
