From freakish and funny bugs toextremely fortunate reversals during aCall of Dutyfinishing move, such viral moments can etch a game in a player’s memory as effectively as any scripted cinematic event.
One such event was captured during the ongoingCall of Duty: Black Ops 6beta period, in which the in-game Play of the Game system (also known as “Best Play”) recorded the player BiggestNightmare’s sighting of a massive helicopter crash that wipes out a group of at least four other players. The crashing helicopter came courtesy of theBlack Ops 6"Watchdog Helo" scorestreak, which summons an attack chopper to shadow its user and fire on nearby enemies. The clip was so amusing that it was shared with theBlack Ops 6Reddit community by one of the crash’s victims, Reddit user Ramen_Noodlesr.
The clip shows a few seconds of gameplay from the perspective of BiggestNightmare as they move around the map, when they wheel around and see the slow-motion descent of a flaming attack helicopter on several players. The chopper was likely summoned by BiggestNightmare as one of theBlack Ops 6Scorestreak bonuses, then destroyed by another player’s RPG or other heavy weapon. The exploding helicopter eliminated Ramen_Noodlesr and at least three other players instantly, crediting BiggestNightmare with the Quad Feed, Kingslayer, Wipeout, and Revenge medals.
The clip amused players in the community, who praised the “sick angle” that the Best Play system managed to capture of the crash. Some expressed positivity, hoping that the exciting clip means that the Best Play system will become better at capturing interesting and exciting moments in aBlack Ops 6match. A few other players were happy that Play of the Game replays are returning, after being absent fromCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
