Summary
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6players are requesting that developer Treyarch Studios make some major sightline adjustments to Skyline, a popular multiplayer map that was included in both August and September’s beta weekends. WhileCall of Duty: Black Ops 6players love Skyline’s overall aesthetics and visuals, fans believe the map’s B flag needs more cover.
The nextCall of Dutytitleis still a little over a month away, but fans were able to jump into a limited-time beta to test out a handful of weapons, maps, andBlack Ops 6’s highly anticipated new omnimovement system. While the first beta weekend was only made available to those who had either pre-orderedCall of Duty: Black Ops 6or managed to nab a free code, September’s beta was open to everyone, regardless of pre-order status.
During the open beta period, Treyarch mademultiple changes toBlack Ops 6based on fan feedback, but now players are requesting the studio make one major change to Skyline, a core 6v6 multiplayer map that towers over the idyllic Avalon from a resort rooftop featuring a lounge, kitchen, gym, pool, and more. Although the map is visually pleasing, a Reddit user has mocked up a re-work of Skyline, as many believe the center of the map is far too open and needs more cover added to allow players to capture the B flag when playing Domination.
Black Ops 6 Fans Request Major Change to Skyline
As Skyline features two floors, the B flag is easily viewable from both the ground and first floor, but this fan re-work shows how the map would look if the number of windows was reduced and multiple walls were added around the pool. The overall aim of the redesign is to add more cover to the map’s center and make it easier to capture the B flag as there are currently multiple sightlines from a variety of angles, making it nearly impossible to hold down the center of the map.
Fellow players praised the user’s map re-design, with some stating that the additional walls would be “perfect.” Others noted that the first floor of the map is where many of Skyline’s issues lie, with some even suggesting that there should only be one window overlooking the pool. However, given that therelease ofBlack Ops 6is right around the corner, it’s unlikely that Skyline will undergo any major changes. But, as noted by a user on Reddit, there is the possibility that Treyarch simply moves the B flag to a more enclosed location on the map instead of completely redesigning it.
Despite the fact thatBlack Ops 6’s beta broke numerous recordsforCall of Duty,a common criticism from fans was that the maps were too small and lacked variety. However, Treyarch responded to fan complaints on Twitter, stating that the majority ofBlack Ops 6’s core 6v6 launch maps will be medium-sized, similar to the likes of Raid fromBlack Ops 2or Summit from the originalBlack Ops. The studio then said it was aware that map flow and variety are “critical” to the best player experience and urged fans to stay tuned for details on the team’s focus areas post-beta.
