Summary
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6has censored its default calling card by removing what could be perceived as references to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The upcomingCall of Duty: Black Ops 6is set during the Gulf War in the early 90s, but that hasn’t stopped rumors from spreading that the game would feature 9/11 in some capacity.
In fact, there were rumors going around online thatBlack Ops 6would include a 9/11 levelas the single-player campaign’s big “No Russian” moment. Those rumors have since been denied, but now it seems that there is indeed a reference to 9/11 in the game. Or at least, imagery that certainly makes people think of the terrorist attacks.
The Make History calling card inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6featured what appeared to be a pixelated image ofPresident George W. Bushon the left and a plane flying near or towards a structure on the right. Putting an image of George Bush next to an airplane is inevitably going to make people think about 9/11. Whether that’s the reason why the calling card has now been censored is unclear, but the fact remains that it’s been changed. As pointed out by Charlie Intel, the calling card has been tweaked to remove Bush’s image and the plane entirely.
Black Ops 6 Calling Card Censored
Some fans online have taken the existence of this calling card as a sign that the rumored 9/11 mission for theCall of Duty: Black Ops 6single-player campaignis real, but that’s quite the stretch. It’s possible that the calling card was never even meant to be a reference to 9/11 at all, and so fans should keep that in mind.
