Boruto: Two Blue Vortexhas marked the beginning of a new phase with the reintroduction of characters from a very beloved country, Sunagakure. This country was quite important in theNarutoseries, as a big portion of the beginning of the second part was set there. Fans saw Naruto Uzumaki and his team headed to Sunagakure to save the Fifth Kazekagefrom the clutches of the Akatsuki. This time around, things are slightly different, but the danger to the Kazekage remains the same.
Gaara, who fans have come to love over the years, might have his life in danger once again, and although he was not the primary target of the Shinju, he might have bigger challenges to overcome in the near future of.
Gaara’s Death In Naruto And How He Survived
Gaara is certainly one of the most loved characters in theNarutofranchise. Although he started his journey as a villain, he was deeply touched by Naruto’s attempt to understand him and, with that, a great change came about in his character. The next time fans saw Gaara, he had transformed completely, having gone from being a blood lusted war machine to a beloved character who showed deep care for his own people. Gaara had become the Fifth Kazekage of the Hidden Sand Village, and this really shocked Naruto Uzumaki. Unfortunately, his reign as the Fifth Kazekage didn’t last long at the beginning, because the Akatsuki targeted him for having a Tailed Beast inside of him. Although Gaara could certainly have taken out a threat as strong as they Deidara, the fact that he had to protect the entire village meant that he was lacking for options when he faced him.
He saved my life! – Gaara
This essentially led to Gaara being defeated and captured. From there onwards, he was forced to withstand a Tailed Beast Extraction, which eventually took his life. When Naruto and his team valiantly attempted to rescue Gaara, he was already dead. Of course, this set offa very interesting battle against the Akatsuki, which the ninjas certainly won. However, the battle simply would not bring back Gaara. But, thankfully, Chiyo had the solution to that. Using her ability to transfer life to someone, she essentially saved Gaara and with that, the future of the Sunagakure.
From there onwards, Gaara played a key role in the Naruto series, going as far as defending Naruto, and helping him survive. Gaara was one of the youngest and most charismatic leaders in the Fourth Great Ninja War, and now, he stands together with the other Kage as an incredible power of the Ninja World. Gaara might just be the most powerful Kage right now, which makes him even more important in the story.
Gaara’s Role In Boruto So Far
Gaara Helped In The Fight Against Momoshiki In Boruto
So far, in the Boruto series, fans have not seen Gaara play a significant role, apart from the very first arc. In this arc, the Chunin Exams took place in Konoha, and because of that, Gaara was present as well. Gaara, together with the other Kage, combined their powers to go fight against Momoshiki and Kinshiki. Thanks to Sasuke, they were able to go to the dimension where Naruto was, and then fight against the Otsutsuki. Gaara played a significant role in this battle, and although he did not take part in the final fight against fused Momoshiki, he was certainly there at the beginning. This was the biggest role that Gaara has played in the Boruto series so far. However, for a character as important as him, there was always more to come later down the line.
It appears that in the Two Blue Vortex series,Gaara has a very important role to playand this makes fans excited, especially because old characters that they often cling to in the series, such as Naruto and Sasuke, are now no longer there to lead.
While the young generation is certainly capable and very powerful, and the likes of Boruto have definitely proven themselves, fans need to see the old generation make an impression in this story as well, which is where Gaara comes in. Undoubtedly, Gaara’s role in the Boruto series is going to be very important, given that the next phase of the series is going to be set in Sunagakure, where he was recently attacked.
Thankfully, Gaara survived this battle against the Shinju, but he was not able to protect his son. That is precisely what makes the upcoming Arc that much more interesting, and will likely focus on the dynamic between Gaara and Shinki. At the same time, fans will also likely see Gaara do whatever he can to save his son.
Why Gaara Might Die In Boruto
Gaara’s Death Could Be On The Cards In Boruto
Of course, no fan would want to see Gaara die inBoruto. However, given the way the story has treated old characters, this is a real possibility. If anything, it is actually quite surprising that more characters have not died in Boruto, given how willing Kishimoto has apparently been to allow them to die, according to recent interviews. It will be interesting to see what step he takeswith the likes of Gaara, but, as things stand, fans know that the threat to his life is real. Of course, this might not be clear to the fan straight away, but, the upcoming arc will most likely center around Gaara, because the new Shinju is based on Shinki. Ryu, who is the new Shinju, will have a target selected for himself. This target is either going to be Gaara or Boruto. It is highly likely that the target is going to be Gaara, because that is the person who Shinki is deeply connected to. If that is true, then Ryu is going to be targeting Gaara very soon, and that simply means that the Fifth Kazekage will have to be ready to take on this threat.

That certainly isn’t all. Despite Konoha sending their best forces, and Boruto likely being involved as well, the fact is that Gaara is the one who has to take responsibility here. The mission to save Shinki should mean more to him than any other ninja. Shinki is his very own son and Gaara absolutely cannot let any harm come to him. This is where the author can draw a very touching backstory regarding these two characters, and hopefully, add more depth to this story. At the same time, it could also be the basis for Gaara sacrificing himself for Shinki so that he can be saved andthe future of Sunagakurecould be protected. Taking down Ryu is certainly not going to be easy for anyone, which is why Gaara will have to fight with his life on the line.
If he wins, which he most likely will,his son, Shinki, will be saved. However, in the process, he could end up losing his life. But, this would all be worth it, because he would then entrust the future of his village to his very own son. This will also mirror how Chiyo gave up her life to save Gaara and entrusted everything to him. Now, it would be time for Gaara to give up his life for someone else and entrust everything to them, but of course, fans still want him to survive, no matter what.
