This article contains spoilers from Boruto’s ongoing manga arc.
Summary
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’sstory is now finally going into second gear, as things get more interesting in regards to the Shinju, and at the same time, the main characters of the series. Previously,Boruto Uzumaki was seen getting captured, and following his arrest, Konoha was, naturally, going to do an interrogation to get all the information out of him.
Fans got to see just that in theBorutochapter, but, an exciting twist came at the very end of the chapter, when it was revealed that Gaara was targeted by the Shinju and engaged them in combat. For those wanting to know what exactly happened to him, the answer has finally been provided.
How Gaara Was Taken Down In TBV
Gaara is the Fifth Kazekage of Sunagakure and one of the strongest ninjas in the world ofNaruto. When it comes to the Kage, it might be said that Gaara is the strongest at this moment, given that Naruto is not the Hokage anymore, at least until he returns. Naturally, the strongest Kage would need to be called into action in Two Blue Vortex in Naruto’s absence, and that is exactly what happened. Fans have wanted for old Naruto characters to get involved in the Two Blue Vortex series more, and it appears that the author is now finally paying heed to what the fans want to see. Of course, the approach that Boruto took in regards to reintroducing Gaara was not perfect in the previous chapter, but there is certainly more to come.
Gaara has been taken down! – Kankuro
Simply put, Gaara, and Sunagakure in general, were attacked by the Shinju in the previous chapter. This was made known to the fans at the very end, when Kankuro contacted Shikamaru, and asked for help. According to Kankuro, the Shinju were attacking Sunagakure, and because of that, there was trouble in the village. It appears that Gaara was fighting against them, and despite his level of strength and everything that he has achieved in his life to this date, he was not able to defeat them. Because of that, Gaara fell and is currently injured, while his son, Shinki, became a target as well. Both of these powerful individuals, who should be strong enough to take on multiple Kage-level ninjas together, were not able to do anything against the Shinju.
Of course, fans know that Jura and Hidari were busy with Konoha, so the ones who attacked them would certainly not have been them. The only answer as to who attacked them is Matsuri. As to why she did it, fans do not know. What matters is what happened, and Gaara was terribly defeated by them, based on Kankuro’s comments. Where exactly he is, and why he was spared isn’t known. Fans then got to see Matsuri return to the hideout, where a new Thorn Soul Bulb was born, which was revealed to belong to none other than Shinki. It is clear for the fans to see that Shinki became a target of the Claw Grimes, while Gaara was taken down by Matsuri herself.
Should Gaara Have Been Involved More In The Story?
Gaara’s Involvement Was Cut Short In Boruto: TBV
While Gaara was certainly reintroduced in Boruto, fans know that this reintroduction was not done the way it should have been. TheBorutoseries has a habit of focusing just on Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki, and driving all the plot forward through these characters. This essentially means that the other characters don’t get any attention, and those not from Konoha are essentially non-existent in the series. Fans don’t even get to see the plot from the point of view of the villains much, although that has certainly changed over the course of the last few weeks, for the good. It would certainly have been better for the author to give Matsuri a chapter, where she invaded Sunagakure, and then gotto fight against Gaara and Shinki.
I’ll cut to the chase. Mind lending us a hand? – Kankuro
Hearing about something is certainly not the same as actually seeing it, and fans would most definitely have preferred to see Matsuri take on Gaara in battle, and, at the same time, Shinki being bitten by a Claw Grime. This would also mirror the beginning of Naruto Shippuden, where the fansfollowed the point of view of the Akatsuki, and clearly saw how they entered Sunagakure, and how Gaara was defeated. It would certainly do the manga much good if the author trusted other characters to lead the narrative at times instead of simply clinging to Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki.
Of course, fans are utterly disappointed upon hearing what happened to Gaara, and, even more than that, upon only hearing it through Kankuro instead of seeing it. But, this is certainly not the end. Fans know for a fact that there is more to come in the Boruto series in regards to Sunagakure, and more attention might be turned towards these characters as the series progresses.
What Is Next For Gaara In Two Blue Vortex?
Gaara Might Play A Major Role In The Battle Against The Shinju Ryu
It appears that Gaara might be involved in the upcoming Arc ofBoruto: Two Blue Vortex, which means fans might get to see their beloved character fight soon. The good news is that Gaara was not bitten by a Claw Grime, which means that even though he was defeated and is currently being tended to, he is still alive and active. Gaara will be seen in the story soon, and, given that his son, Shinki, is in danger, it is highly likely that Gaara will be involved in any attempt being made to rescue him.
Based on the call that was made to Shikamaru, the Hidden Sand Village needs help immediately. This might mean that fans will see Boruto Uzumaki and ninjas from Konoha being sent to the Hidden Sand, and, as that happens, they will also finally get to leave Konoha and explore the world of Naruto a bit more, which is something that readers have desperately wanted the series to do for a long time now. If this truly does come to pass, then, the next villains will be encountered in the Hidden Sand, and that would certainly make Boruto more exciting than ever before.
At the same time, fans will also getto see another Shinju being the villainof the next arc, and, even more than that, fans will get to see Gaara being involved in the main story. Gaara has been away from the main plot for quite a while now, and it would do the story well if he were involved and helped Boruto Uzumaki, who was always going to be the one to be involved in the upcoming arc in the Sunagakure if it does take place. It is safe to say that the upcoming few chapters of Boruto are going to be absolutely sensational, and fans will definitely get to see the return of some major characters, their newly acquired powers, and, at the same time, a new location in the world of Naruto being explored.
Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and theManga Plusapp. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 15, is set to be June 04, 2025.
