Summary
This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Naruto New Generations.
As the overarching antagonistic group of theBorutoseries,Kara and its membershave become a central piece in the series’ premise. Arguably the most significant of these characters is Amado, the brains behind the organization, albeit with ulterior motives of his own. Amado is a man of many mysteries, and while much still remains unknown,Borutohas unraveled a significant relationship between him and one of his cyborg creations — Delta.
Delta is an explosive character, both in terms of her powers and persona, leading to her being at odds with Amado for the most part. This initial setup makes the reveal of her connection to Amado all the more jarring. This revelation might be rather grim for Amado’s character, yet it adds another layer of nuance to his already in-depth characterization.

From her aggressive persona to insatiable bloodlust, Delta is one of Kara’s most prominent Inners. Her devotion to Jigen’s cause remained unaltered till the very end, showcasing a resolve that was only second to Code’s obsessive worship of Jigen. While Delta’s role was rather prominent in furthering Kara’s goals, her motivation behindsupporting Jigen’s goalhad always been rather obscure.
Seems you’re just as much of a monster as me.
Despite her loyalty to Jigen’s cause, she was never fond of the rest of the Inners. This includes Amado as well, who was initially supposed to be a mere scientist working for Kara. Delta was also the most skeptical of Amado when Jigen confirmed the presence of a traitor within the Inner’s ranks. Being at odds with almost every other member, Delta’srole within the organizationseemed rather out of place. Nevertheless, the reveal of Delta’s connection to Amado explains these peculiarities inBoruto, shedding light on her role in the organization and how she ended up in Kara in the first place.
Delta’s Ties to Amado
Delta and Amado’s Ties Run Much Deeper Than Just Comrades
Delta isn’t merely a comrade in arms of Amado, as her true relationship runs much deeper. Delta is a clone of Akebi, Amado’s deceased daughter, albeit with all of her memories intact. After Akebi conceived an incurable illness, Amado focused all his efforts on saving his daughter. Instead of curing the illness, however, Amado sought to clone Akebi and immortalize her altogether. With her memories digitized, and her brain contents stored, Amado was able to successfully clone Delta.
Despite successfully cloning his daughter, Amado ran into one major problem. While the clone possessed the memories of Akebi, it ended up forming its own unique personality and identity, one that differed from Amado’s daughter entirely. Since the clone had become its own person, it was named Delta, who later becameKara’s battle-hardened Inner. Delta’s constant annoyance and detest for Amado has been quite apparent since her introduction back in the Kawaki Arc. However, this very volatile dynamic between them makes their true relationship all the more rattling. TheBorutoseries is yet to explain the formation of Delta’s unique persona, since she is merely a genetic clone of Akebi.
Why Did Amado and Delta Join Kara?
Amado’s Desperation Landed Him in Kara
Amado and Delta’s peculiar relationship opens up the question of why the two ended up joining Kara. For Amado, the sole purpose of joining such an organization was Jigen’s promise. Realizing Amado’s genius at creatingscientific ninja tools, Jigen sought to recruit the genius, enticing him with the promise of bringing back his daughter. While Amado initially joined Kara for this purpose, he eventually deciphered Jigen’s true plan of annihilating humanity altogether.
Delta’s membership in Kara can largely be attributed to Amado, as he programmed her to serve Jigen and his cause. Despite possessing Akebi’s memories and genetic material, she still remains a programmed cyborg, making it rather easy for Amado to reprogram her loyalties. Even with Delta being hardwired to serve Kara, she still remained her own unique persona that led to constant squabbles between her and the rest of Kara’s members.
Don’t worry Amado, everyone’s wishes will be granted… including yours, of course.
Konoha’s New Protector
Delta Has Pledged Her Loyalties to Konoha
InBoruto: Naruto Next Generations, Delta’s final appearance was rather anticlimactic. Delta tried to stand in theway of Koji Kashinand Amado’s coup against Jigen, but she was rendered incapacitated after Amado commanded her to shut down. An underwhelming demise such as this would never have fit a character like Delta, and this was later proven true after she made an appearance once more in theBoruto: Two Blue Vortexmanga.
This time, Delta has entered the scene as a friend instead of a foe. Since Delta is merely a clone of Amado’s daughter, she can easily be reprogrammed by the scientist himself as he sees fit. By realigning Delta’s loyaltiesto the Hidden Leaf, Delta has now become a staunch ally of Konoha. While she still maintains her own feisty persona, her allegiances have clearly changed, and she now lives to serve Konoha and its people.
