Fields of Mistriais a farming simulator with various RPG mechanics for the player to improve how their charactercompletes certain tasks. Even in early access, a player can level up various skills all the way to level thirty, which each comes with an assortment of purchasable skill improvements to make their time inFields of Mistriaa lot easier.
Although a player may eventually be able to buy every single skill inFields of Mistria, there are still some that players should focus on first before they start trying to buy the rest. Therefore, these are the best skills inFields of Mistria, ranked.
8Treasure Hunter - Mining
Find Floors Dedicated To Chests In The Mines
Starting off strong, besides farming, players are likely to find themselves plunging into the mines to collect valuable materials and ore which can then be used to improve their tools for other activities. Players are likely to find plenty of ore while traversing the different levels of the mines, which will occasionally have chests of treasure.
Players can improve their chances of finding these chests with the Treasure Hunter skill, found in the Mining skill tree from the statueinside the mines. This will make it so they are likely to get a room whose only focus is having a chest that may be filled with all sorts of treasures, depending on the other skills the player has purchased.
7Lumberjack - Woodcrafting
Earn Twice As Much Wood
While players may find it quite easy to get their hands on the stone needed to upgrade various buildings orcomplete certain projectswithinFields of Mistria, a resource that players can simply never get enough of is wood. To improve their chances of stocking up on wood, there are various skills within the Woodcraftng skill tree that will improve the player’s chances.
One great example is the Lumberjack skill. With this skill purchased, players may occasionally receive two pieces of wood from breaking a single branch found both on their farm or around the world ofFields of Mistria. While this may not seem like a lot at first, with how often branches will appear on the farm, having the chance to earn even more wood in this way can be a great relief.
6Earth Breaker - Mining
Break More Rocks At Once
There is also an assortment of ways for players to get their hands on even more stones, though the skill Earth Breaker is far more beneficial than just getting more resources.
Every time the player breaks a stone with this skill purchased, the player also has the chance of 1x3 rocks next to it also breaking alongside it. For every rock broken, there is the potential for the ladder to show, which allows the player to get to the next level of the mines. Therefore, players may descend quicker into the mines and find better resources in return.
5Time Sensitive - Blacksmithing
Reduces The Crafting Time By 10 Minutes
Unlike titles likeStardew Valleywhere players rely on a different character that they pay to upgrade their tools, it’s down to the players themselves to build their improved hoes, watering cans, and other improved equipment. While this does mean that players are no longer left waiting a day to receive their tools back, it does take in-game time for any ore to be smelted into bars or the tools to be made.
Fortunately, there are skills to help with that too. Time Sensitive is one of the most important Blacksmithing skills available. It reduces the amount of time ittakes to craft somethingthrough Blacksmithing by 10 minutes. This skill can currently be purchased three separate times, allowing players to shave off 30 minutes from any of their current items they are allowed to craft.
4Pursuit - Archeology
Digging Up Peat, Sod, Or Clay Increases The Chances Of Artifacts
Like any good RPG farming simulator, collecting various artifacts to fill up the collection in a museum is one of many ways for players to pass the time inFields of Mistria. However, some of these artifacts are rarer to find than others.
Skills in the Archeology tree such as Pursuit are a great way for players to improve their chances of finding some of the rarer artifacts, as every time resources such as Peat, Sod, or Clay are dug up, the chances of finding uncommon or rare artifacts are increased. This also means players are also likely to find new artifacts too.
3Barnyard Bounty - Ranching
Extra Products From Cows And Chickens
Ranching is another prominent aspect ofFields of Mistria, as players can eventually adoptall sorts of farmyard animalsto make their land feel livelier. Players will likely start their adoption by purchasing chickens and cows that will eventually give them eggs, milk, feathers, or bullhorns, depending on the animal.
Players tend to only get a resource once a day for most of these creatures, though players can increase their profit through skills like Barnyard Bounty, which gives them a better chance of gaining extra products when they go to visit them in the morning.
2Museum Quality - Archeology
Even More Of A Chance To Dig Up Rarer Artifacts
In addition to Pursuit, another great skill from the Archeology trees that is a must for any player inFields of Mistriais the Museum Quality skill. This is another skill inFields of Mistriathat increases the player’s chances of finding uncommon or rare artifacts when digging for them.
Unlike Pursuit, however, this increases the player’s chances in general instead of only when they find certain resources under the dirt. Players are able to purchase a second version of this when they finally hit level 30 in archeology to increase these chances even more.
1Bountiful - Farming
Watering Drops Has A Chance To Drop Seeds
Out of all the available skills inFields of Mistria, one of the most important skills a player should attempt to purchase as soon as possible can be found within the Farming skill tree. This is the Bountiful skill. With this skill acquired, every time a player waters their crops, they have the chance of dropping a seed bag for the crop that was just watered.
Players maycollect these seed bagsin the hopes of not having to purchase as many seeds in the next year of that season, or gradually make their fields larger using them. This is especially useful for seasons where it’s unlikely to rain, as players are far more likely to be doing their watering by hand.
