Summary

Smite 2continues the legacy of the Smite franchise but has made a slew of changes from the original game. This has affected many parts of the game, which in turn has shaken up what the future of the meta will be. Gods will receive balance changes down the line, and the inclusion of new Gods means the order of their placement on this list will shift with time.

However, the current roster of Gods has some standouts when it comes tocalling the Middle roleand playing it accordingly. No God is meant to feel inherently bad, and players can still have fun playing the God that gives them the playstyle they prefer — which is even better if said god makes it on this list.

The Morrigan Smite 2 Gods-3

5The Morrigan

An Amazing Kit To Take Into The Mid Lane

Different Lanes have different ways to play, so having a kit that excels in the Mid Lane will be key. A lot of players enjoy playing at a range, as it feels safer than getting right up into an enemy’s face — especially when that enemy is a melee-focused opponent. Luckily, her one ability will make her invisible while sending out a decoy. This can be great for both escaping and getting the jump on an unsuspecting enemy.

Her base ranged attack will deal damage based on a percentile of the enemy’s health, making her a great match-up against high health opponents. Her kit allows her to stun enemies that might attempt to run, and pile on additional damage from consecutive ability damage effects. Even without factoring in her ultimate, which copies her opponents, this makes for the perfect kit for being a mid laner as well asplaying the Jungle role.

Hecate Smite 2 Gods-3

4Hecate

Massive Team Player Mentality

While this God has a Hybrid Aptitude, it is best to heavily invest in Intelligence to make her shine the most. Her defenses and attack damage are low, but a flawless Ability Damage game can turn her into a truly terrifying presence on the field — especially when her allies are nearby. She can buff structures and ally Gods, with structures buffs granting healing and mana regeneration. Buffing allies can raise their Strength & Intelligence stats after they get a kill. She can also grant a shield against Magic damage to herself or allies.

Her Ultimate lets her teleport enemies from one location to another, which allows for the versatility of pushing them back or pulling them closer. Both she and her allies can use the remnants of this ability to move between the spaces to push the advantage or escape a tricky situation as many times as they like. She is capable of immense burst damage, is a truly amazing God over all, and is great in the Mid Lane, but she gets knocked down a bit because of how hard she is to play. Other Gods’ simpler playstyles will allow for a much more consistent experience for players who struggle to master Hecate.

Zeus Smite 2 Gods-3

3Zeus

Stack Charges For High Payoffs

Mid Laners will want to focus on dealing a massive amount of damage, be it DPS or Burst-based. Zeus’ basic attack will apply charges to his targets, making them take even more damage from basic attacks for each of these charges. He can rush down enemies with an ability that will increase both his movement and attack speed — with an initial AoE attack that gives another charge. Players should take Zeus intothe Arena game modeto better understand how to play him in Conquest.

He also can use an ability that deals damage based on the number of charges and will stun opponents with the maximum amount of charges. His ultimate is an AoE that continually deals damage and applies these charges. This makes Zeus’ kit highly synergetic and one of thebest Gods for playing this role.

Kukulkan Smite 2 Gods-3

2Kukulkan

High Survivability & Aggressive Follow-Ups

Kukulkan has two ranged abilities that can deal damage, with the first slowing the enemy, and the second being a sustained AoE that continually deals damage within the area. He is also able to gain bonus movement speed using his Slipstream ability, making him the perfect God to control where his enemies will be and prevent them from escaping. This also makes them agreat God for newer players unfamiliar with the original gameto learn everything they will need to playSmite 2.

Slowing an enemy while speeding Kukulkan up also makes for a brilliant means of escape when things are not in the player’s favor — especially since he is immune to Slow while using Slipstream. Kukulkan can ramp up his Intelligence by using items that grant mana thanks to his passive. This gives Kukulkan a lot of survivability, while also being an incredibly aggressive option — very similar tohow one can build Hades.

Sol Smite 2 Gods-3

1Sol

Easiest To Master

Just like Zeus, hitting enemies with basic attacks will act as a means of increasing Sol’s damage thanks to a mechanic calledHeat. However, unlike Zeus, this damage increase will lie within Sol and can be used against any enemy instead of just the ones she hit — this damage is also added from abilities that hit with an additional basic attack damage boost once maxed out. She has damaging abilities, as well as abilities that help her escape — that punish enemies trying to pursue her.

She can heal herself by creating an area of effect that she can attack out of while damaging enemies within it. This can help her outlast an enemy, as well as keep them at a distance. The more Heat Sol has, the greater the potency of this ability. Sol has everything a Mid Laner needs and is very simple to play, making her easier to master and she can perform just as great in the Duo Lane for when the Middle role gets called by a teammate.
