Whilewhite items are the most commonones found inRisk of Rain 2, green items are not far behind. They are a guaranteed drop from large chests, and have a fairly high drop chance from normal chests as well. These items aren’t game changing, but can significantly affect a run when stacked properly.

The best items increase the damage dealing potential of the player, or increase their survivablity by affecting their movement in one way or another. Healing is important to an extent, but what’s the point of surviving longer if even a simple elite lemurian is impossible to kill?

Old Guillotine, best green items in risk of rain 2

Defeat 500 elite enemies

Description

Instantly kill low health Elite monsters.

Elite enemies are some of the toughest in the game. They start spawning fairly early, though take up a lot of the director’s resources so players won’t encounter them in the first few stages. These enemies have special modifiers with a few different variations out there. The toughest ones, malachite elites, only spawn after the first cycle is over, though the other variations are quite tough to deal with as well.

The Old Guillotine is a great option to have no matter the player’s build. It decreases the damage players need to do to kill elite enemies, making them easier for players to deal with. This is especially good since some of the late-game teleporter bosses can be elite as well. The Old Guillotine reduces the effective HP of elites by a percentage, so the higher the health, the better its effect. It’snot very good on Artificer, since her abilities have a similar effect, and don’t stack with the Old Guillotine. But, a few stacks of the Old Guillotine go a long way in making late-game life easier.

Predatory Insticnts, best green items in risk of rain 2

Reach 200% attack speed

‘Critical Strikes’ increase attack speed. Stacks 3 times.

One of the best builds in the gameis centered around critical strikes. It includes getting 8 to 10 stacks of the Lens-Maker’s Glasses, combined with Predatory Instincts and a Harvester Scythe or two. Predatory Instincts gives the player increased attack speed for every critical strike that they deal.

Predatory Instincts should only be stacked 3 times at most, since it doesn’t give additional benefits after 3 stacks.

Wax Quail, best green items in risk of rain 2

This is a very powerful effect on survivors that don’t have a limited number of primary attacks, though it doesn’t stack with itself, meaning te player won’t keep getting more and more attack speed the more they attack, only resetting the duration. However, it’s quite powerful despite its restrictions.

AtG Missile Mk. 1, best green items in risk of rain 2

Reach +300% movespeed (includes sprinting)

Jumping while sprinting boosts you forward.

Doing damage means little if the player can’t stay alive long enough to kill an enemy. That’s where the Wax Quail comes in. Not all survivors in the game have good movement abilities, and even the ones that can only use them every so often. However, the Wax Quailgives a simple movement abilityto every survivor that picks it up, and it doesn’t have any cooldown.

Every time the player jumps while sprinting, they will dash forward a short distance. The short burst of movement is perfect for dodging enemy attacks without wasting any time and can be used without any special inputs during the critical movement.

Sale Star, best green items in risk of rain 2

Discover the hidden chamber in the Abandoned Aqueduct.

High damage hits also blasts enemies with runic fire/ice. Recharges over time.

Kjaro’s Band and Runald’s Band are technically two different items, but they have a very similar effect, look almost the exact same minus some color changes. Whenever the player deals a hit that does more than 400% damage, they will trigger these two bands, which will create two explosions (one for each band), dealing 300% damage.

Risk of Rain 2 Tag Page Cover Art

Kjaro’s Band creates a runic flame tornado which does damage over time for 3s, and Runald’s Band creates a runic ice blast which slows enemies for 80% for 3s. Both bands can be triggered once every 10 seconds, and always trigger together.

Chance to fire a missile.

The AtG Missile Mk. 1 is the best damage dealing item in the game. The item triggers 10% of the time with each hit, and fires a missile that deals 300% damage. That doesn’t sound that great compared to some other items, but its killer feature is one that isn’t even mentioned in the description.

TheAtG missiles has a 1.0 proc coefficient, meaning each missile has a chance to trigger another on-hit effect, which could potentially be another AtG missile, creating a chain of hits that keeps triggering more and more effects. Combined with the 57 Leaf Clover, a legendary item which rerolls all chance-based effects, the AtG goes from a missile launcher to a gattling gun.

Available in the Seekers of the Storm DLC

First chest bought yields more than one reward. Usable once per stage.

The most powerful items in the entire game arelegendary red items. These have a very small chance to drop from normal and large chests, but some stages, such as Abyssal Depths and Sundered Grove, have a guaranteed spawn of the Legendary Chest, which costs 16 times the price of a normal chest.

The Sale Star isa new item introduced inSeekers of the Stormwhich guarantees that each chest will drop two items, with additional stacks of the item giving it a +5% chance to drop additional items. This item is only usable once per stage, meaning only the first chest the player open will give them two items. A stack of Sale Star lets players get more rare and legendary items than normal, and using it on a legendary chest means that players will get at least one extra legendary, with a small chance to spawn two, or even three extra legendary items.
