As players dive intoWarhammer 40,000:Space Marine 2, they will have a variety of classes to choose from. Each class offers distinct weapons and armor, but most importantly, an ability that just might save the day for the Imperium, and provide the Tyranid hordes with a brutal death. The best abilities inSpace Marine 2will certainly tighten the bond of battle brothers.
Every class harbors significant importance for the three-man squads during Operations, but players will also encounter some unique abilities only found in the campaign with Titus and his company. So players can havea better understandingofSpace Marine 2’s best abilities, look below to see which one grants the greatest potential for each Ultramarine.
8Battle Cry
Damages Enemies and Pushes Them Away
The ability that players will see the least is the Battle Cry, as it is only accessible to those who are playing as Gadriel during the Campaign Mode, and that’s if theyplay it as a co-op partner. Gadriel’s Battle Cry certainly has its uses, but it’s most uncommon and won’t be seen during Operations.
In the Campaign Mode, Battle Cry can be used to deal great damage to targets and push them away, which is nice for when things get a tad crowded, and Tyranid forces swarm, leaving players with no choice but to fight or retreat until they activate the Battle Cry to gain the upper hand.
7Righteous Fury
Increases Attack Damage and Regain Health From Kills
The most common ability players will find themselves familiar with is Righteous Fury, which acts as the exclusive ability to Titus during the Campaign Mode. With this ability, players will rally forward with a fist in the air. They will glow with a golden hue, and their enemies will beno match for this Lieutenant.
Titus players will be able to provide enemies with a swift end due to a higher damage output on all their weapons. If players have low armor and their health is slowly depleting, Righteous Fury will see each bit of damage and every kill will boost health, meaning a medical stim is unnecessary.
6Jump Pack
Enhanced Dashes and New Combat Moves With Aerial Jumps
Armed with a secondary weapon and a righteous melee weapon, the Assault Class rockets into the fight, aided by the Jump Pack. The Jump Pack is a tad disappointing, but still pretty fun, as players can use it to dash forward for more evasive maneuvers in combat, and also use it to propel themselves upward and slam down at the ground with grand fury and might.
The Jump Pack really compliments players who enjoy melee combat like swinging the Thunder Hammer into their enemies. It might not help the team, but it feels good and looks cool each and every time players activate a Jump Pack charge for new combat moves.
5Grapnel Launcher
Propel to an Enemy and Perform a Diving Kick
The Vanguard is one of the more basic classes, yet it’s still equally as fun as the others. The Grapnel Launcher is definitely one of the most fun, but also one of the riskier ones with little reward on higher difficulties. The Grapnel Launcher has 2 charges and it will see players latch and propel to a targeted enemy and perform a powerful Diving Kick.
Yet, the Diving Kick rarely eliminates enemies, and it will just put players in the midst of a scrap, which may be their undoing. Jumping into the middle of a Tyranid swarm with a Grapnel Launcher might be fun, but players are going to have to fight their way out of it and probably lose a ton of health during it.
4Camo Cloak
Become Invisible Between Attacks
Snipers need to be a tad more stealthy than the loud hulking armors of the Ultramarines allow. With Camo Cloak, Sniper Class users are able to activate a camouflage that turns them completely invisible, allowing them to pass by enemies and line up the perfect shot with their LAS and Bolt Sniper Rifles that will truly devastate an unsuspecting heretic or Tyranid.
The Camo Cloak can definitely come in handy in harder difficulties, as players can activate this ability to hide themselves from danger and regain health and shields whilst lining up a good shotas if they are a lone wolf. Players can also activate it to revive teammates, allowing them to act as swift shooters who are rarely targeted.
3Iron Halo
Block All Ranged Damage Within a Powerful Barrier
The Heavy Class has the Iron Halo ability, which allowsthis specific Ultramarineto encase its frontal area with a projected shield. This shield acts as a powerful barrier that can block all Ranged Damage, and teammates can also stand next to the Heavy Class character to shield themselves within the barrier, whilst also shooting the Bolt weapons from within at a safe distance from the overwhelming enemies.
The Iron Halo is greatly beneficial to the team, as not only will it grant the Heavy Class further survivability, but it compliments every brother in the fight, as they can all amass to this shield and protect themselves from deadly fire. However, it can run into issues with melee-focused enemies, but Heavy Class users should always pop the shield when available.
2Auspex Scan
Marks Enemies and Makes Them Vulnerable
The Auspex Scan allows players to target a selected area which will then ping each Ultramarine their targets. Enemies caught within the Auspex Scan will be shown with a yellow outline, and these enemies, whether Chaos or Tyranid, are easier to track and also more vulnerable, meaning players should target them for extended damage.
The Auspex Scan is great for dealing with huge hordes to make them cannon fodder. It’s also great for tagging boss enemies, as the extra damage dealt to them, especially combined with certain grenades, will easily have them destroyed for the Emperor.
1Chapter Banner
Rallying the fight, the Bulwark charges into battle to risk their own safety in order to aid their brothers. The Chapter Banner ability will see the Bulwark thrust down a sporting flag of the Ultramarines, and from within the vicinity of this flag, armor will regenerate rather quickly for a decent amount of time.
This is great for situations where an enemy wave is overrunning the Ultramarines, as the Bulwark can throw down a Chapter Banner ability and allow them and their team to regenerate armor whilst laying down heavy fire onto the hordes that threaten them.
