Some gamers, however, are claiming that they have narrowed down the setting of the render that showed a war-torn city.
Therecently released concept artfor the nextBattlefieldgame seems to be based on Gibraltar, a British territory that borders southern Spain, according to content creator TheTacticalBrit. Journalist and video game industry insider Tom Henderson agreed with TheTacticalBrit, who shared an image on Twitter that highlighted the similarities between Gibraltar and the city that appeared in the concept art for EA’s upcoming shooter. According to the streamer, the colony would be a good setting for a theoretical conflict as it acts as a strategic bridge between Europe and Africa. They also pointed out that a map for thewell-receivedBattlefield 2142was based on Gibraltar.
Possible Setting for the Next Battlefield Game
EA reportedly plans to go back to classes and 64-player maps for its newBattlefield. The concept art for the new title suggests that the game will feature ship-to-ship and helicopter combat. It could also utilize natural disasters as a mechanic, which is whatBattlefield 2042did.
When discussing the franchise’s return to a modern-day setting with IGN, Vince Zampella, the CEO of Respawn Entertainment and general manager of the EA Studios umbrella, claimed thatBattlefield 3andBattlefield 4represented the peak of the series.
