On Reddit, players have revealed mechanics they missed for hundreds of hours in theirBaldur’s Gate 3playthroughs. User Nissan_al_Gaib posted that they felt a bit embarrassed due to only recently discovering that the Battle Master maneuver precision attack actually required no action, as well as a more obscure mechanic using Sacred Munitions, a weapon action granted by Gandrel’s Aspiration, that allowed them to turn all non-immune undead with 100% success. Another player in the comments said that they only found out that they could cast the Oath of Vengeance’s Vow of Enmity on themselves for 10 turns, while another commenter stated that players may not know that they cansummonBG3’s Scratch, the dog, to sniff out the location of chests and point players in the right direction.

Some players also pointed out that shooting levers with ranged attacks is a mechanic that they overlooked on their first playthrough, which can be incredibly useful in saving the prisoners inBaldur’s Gate 3’s final act of the game. Another missed gameplay mechanic involves the adorable Owlbear. WhileBaldur’s Gate 3players can save the Owlbear cubearly on in their playthroughs, some may not know that the mother Owlbear can use a legendary action called Call Consort when she is attacked, which summons her mate to enter into the fight, but this action only appears if gamers are playing on Honor Mode difficulty.
Because of how the natural exploration works, there are loads of areas, even inBaldur’s Gate 3’s Act 1, that players will undoubtedly miss. Thankfully, these can be seen as exciting challenges for players who take delight in numerous future playthroughs to uncover as much of the game as possible.
