The version 1.004 update forAstro Botwas released on September 17 for PlayStation 5 with a 382.5 MB file size, according toPush Square. Since theAstro Botupdate is very small, PlayStation gamers won’t need to wait long at all for it to fully install. However, details about what this update does forAstro Botare unknown, since Team Asobi did not release patch notes. It’s assumed thatAstro Botupdate 1.004 applies bug fixes and other adjustments that improve the overall user experience. Additionally, it’s worth noting thatmoreAstro Botupdates could be on the way, if Team Asobi is able to introduce some of the cameos that were mentioned in the credits and didn’t appear in the game’s sandbox.

Astro Bot Update 1.004 Goes Live Without Patch Notes

This new update was released just five days afterAstro Botupdate 1.003went live on September 12. Update 1.003 also didn’t receive patch notes, and it had a similarly meager file size at just 384 MB. Before update 1.003’s release, there were a few reports of game crashes that would result in the loss of autosave data. Fortunately, this issue appears to be very uncommon, and it was likely completely resolved with the release of update 1.004.

Astro Bot’sstrong sales performance in the US and UK is also a great sign regarding the future of the series. Moreover,Astro Bot’sPlatinum trophy teases a potential sequel, so it’s possible that PlayStation plans to invest in smaller games and studios to diversify its library on PlayStation 5. If history repeats itself,Astro Botcan receive some content updates over time, just likeAstro’s Playroom,to encourage players to revisit the game, discover something new, and eagerly await the sequel whenever the time comes.
