Once you eventually discover the Secret Exit in the Creamy Canyon level inAstro Bot, you will unlock theFunky Fungistage in the Lost Galaxy map. In this level, there will be five robots to find and two puzzle pieces to collect. The number of bots and pieces are a little low compared to some of the other stages, but that doesn’t mean all of them are easy to find.
Funky Fungi Robot #1
After passing the first checkpoint in Funky Fungi, you’ll spot the Vampire Killer bot (Richter Belmont fromCastlevania) standing on the left side of the platform. Just give him a smack to save him. This one is pretty much impossible to miss.
Funky Fungi Puzzle Piece #1
After thethird checkpoint in Funky Fungi, you’ll see a large rock that can be blown up with a nearby explosive you’re able to pull out of the ground. Instead of breaking it,carry the bomb to the right to find a stone wallthat can be destroyed to reveal the first hidden puzzle piece in Funky Fungi.
Funky Fungi Robot #2
Once you end up in the cave-like area with a bunch of glowing mushrooms, there are two platforms you can reach on the left side, but only if you pick up those flying flower powerups out of the ground. Reach the mushroom at the top to find theYharnam Tourist, otherwise known as The Hunter fromBloodborne.
Funky Fungi Puzzle Piece #2
In the same area where we found the Yharnam Tourist, go over to the right side of the area to find a blob monster standing (sitting?) on top of a glowing blue star mark. Use your charged spin move on top of it to reveal a secret area that has the second puzzle piece. All you need to do is use your double jump laser attack on the fourth square from the top.
Funky Fungi Robot #3
In the same underground cave area, check out the platform in the middle (there’s a bouncing bunny and a pumpkin-looking enemy there). You’ll find another one of those shiny blue spots on the floor. Use your spinning charged move to enter a secret area, and say hello to the third trapped bot in the level.
Funky Fungi Robot #4
You’ll reach a checkpoint once you finally leave that mushroom-infested cave and drop further into the level. But before you progress, look behind you tofind a pile of rocks that can be slappedto reveal another one of those shiny blue spots.
You’ll have to move the DualSense controller left and right to get around the platforms. Reach the end to findAlucard fromCastlevania.
Funky Fungi Robot #5
Eventually, you’ll reach a round arena-like section with an enemy that throws a huge spiky ball at you (that also happens to be a helmet). Defeat the enemy and use the nearby propeller power-up thing to go up the waterfall to reach the trapped robot being bothered by a yellow enemy.
If you’re having trouble reaching it, stand on the pillars to the left of the waterfall to get a good starting jump.
