According toVariety, writer/director Damien Leone attended the premiere ofTerrifier 3at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, and he said, “Yes there will be aTerrifier 4.” AsVarietyexplained, the filmmaker didn’t say anything else. Art the Clown in Terrifier 3

There’sa lot to appreciate about theTerrifiermovies, and fans will be glad to hear that there will be at least one more film. Ever since the first movie came out in 2016, slasher audiences have praised Art The Clown’s (David Howard Thornton) particularly violent reign of terror. WhileTerrifieronly has 57% on Rotten Tomatoes, fans like how unapologetic the character is. The franchise takes risks and goes further than many other modern slashers.

Those who have been following theTerrifierfranchise might be surprised to hear that a fourth movie is in the works since Leone shared that he wasn’t sure about continuing. In November 2023, he toldUPI:

“The well is going to run dry and you’re just going to keep repeating yourself at some point. I want to have my own Damien Leone solid franchise within theTerrifieruniverse. When I’m done, I’m sure somebody else is going to come in and down the line they’ll reboot the franchise and they’ll make it all over again. There’ll be 100 more and this will outlive me, for sure.”

Based on those comments, there might not be any more movies afterTerrifier 4, which would be a shame. But it sounds likeLeone wants to make sure that he’s making fans happy and making solid movies. Whileslashers that do something differentwill always have a large and passionate fanbase, being aTerrifierfan is a unique experience. Leone appreciates the people who have followed the franchise since the beginning. In an interview withBloody Disgusting, he said he wanted fans who saw the re-release ofTerrifier 2in movie theaters to get a special teaser forTerrifier 3because “it’s a big deal” to see a film again on the big screen. He told the publication, “I’m just so thankful to the fans that I love to give them as much as possible and give them their money’s worth.”

Terrifier 3could start a cool trendas it takes place at Christmas, and it will be interesting to see what happens inTerrifier 4. Even though there won’t be news on the story or characters for a while, since the movie was just announced, fans can likely expect even more gore from Art The Clown.
