Summary
While playingApex Legends, one player discovered a bizarre bug that let them dual-wield a Mozambique and P2020. Season 22 ofApex Legendshas seen its fair share of glitches, and this most recent one has the community questioning whether it is a viable option until it gets patched.
With the release of the latest season ofApex Legends, Respawn Entertainment introduced Akimbo, a dual-wield mechanic that put a fresh spin on several previously underwhelming guns. Specifically, this new weapon change focused on making the Mozambique and P2020 more viable in the game’s meta by allowing two of them to be fired alternatively in rapid succession. TheseApex Legendsweaponshave found new life thanks to Akimbo, making them much more deadly in the right situations. While the dual-wield mechanic is supposed to be limited to two of the same weapon, one player inadvertently found a way to bypass this restriction.
Recently, anApex Legendsplayer, sabre352 on Reddit, shared a screenshot of a dual-wield bug they discovered while playing the game. The image showed their character holding both a Mozambique and a P2020 in theApex Legendsfiring range. According to sabre352, they have no idea how they caused the bug to occur. However, they claimed there was even a reload animation for when using a Mozambique and P2020 simultaneously.
Apex Legends Season 22 Dual-Wield Bug
It is worth noting that sabre352 was usingBallistic inApex Legends, with many gamers on the subreddit believing this character was the cause of the glitch. Furthermore, one user claimed the bug could happen even when one non-Akimbo weapon was part of the pair being dual-wielded. However, sabre352 pointed out in the Reddit comments that the bug did not serve as a buff for the guns in their experience. Instead, shooting the weapons felt “sporadic and weird,” with the fire rate slow compared to using a pair of P2020s or Mozambiques. In addition, the ammo count on the HUD was incorrect, forcing the player to reload with three bullets remaining.
This strange bug comes as players have reported other unusual glitches inApex Legends. For example, aSeason 22 Newcastle bughas been discovered impacting his Mobile Shield. While one of the Legend’s upgrade options is supposed to increase the movement speed of his Tactical Ability, players have found that it does not work, causing players to waste what can be a pivotal upgrade.
Hopefully, Respawn Entertainment will be able to fix these issues, such as the dual-wield and Newcastle Mobile Shield bug, in the future. While they might not be game-breaking, they could be frustrating to players who encounter them, potentially deterring them from playing the remainder of Season 22.
