Summary
Amouranth’s main YouTube channel has been abruptly banned from the website. The move seems to have come fromYouTubewith no warning, as Amouranth has alleged to its social media account.
Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa and bans have gone hand-in-hand for some time now, though the majority of them have been directed at her Twitch account and haven’t lasted for long.Amouranth has been banned from Twitch at least ten times, with a couple of those instances being over the span of just three days. While these Twitch bans have been temporary, the latest YouTube bans might be permanent.
Amouranth’s main YouTube channel has been removed from the service, with her account showing a 404 error and none of her original uploads available for viewing. The ban arrived suddenly without any prior warning, per Amouranth. She clearly isn’t happy about it, as she took to Twitter to complain to the official TeamYouTube account. She alleges that the public-facing account as well as her private viewing accounts were both banned from the site. She mused that her Gmail account might be next, wondering if parent company Google was trying to force her to use Bing. As of this writing, official YouTube channels haven’t responded to her post publicly.
This Isn’t Amouranth’s First YouTube Ban
At the moment, it’s not entirely clear what got her main YouTube account banned. Some have speculated that having more than one account could be seen by YouTube as trying to bypass the prior ASMR channel ban, which is against its TOS. However, her main channel is several years old, so it’s not as though she made a new one to try and restore her ASMR content.YouTube also reserves the right to disable monetizationif a content creator violates its Creator Responsibility policy, which takes into consideration a user’s behavior off-site, as it did with Dr Disrespect’s channel after his alleged contact with a minor came to light. Given the complete banning of her accounts, though, this may not be the reason behind it.
In the end, Amouranth can no doubt do just fine with the platforms still available to her, despite her frustration. Her fans will likely seek out her content on whichever service she uses, likeAmouranth’s Kick streams.
