Spectre Divide, the newest game from Mountaintop Studio, adds a unique twist to the traditionalfirst-person shootergenre. The game’s unique gameplay features, particularly using Spectre to defeat enemies, have won over many shooter fans since its early access release.
In addition to its casual mode,Spectre Dividefeatures a ranked mode, just like many othercompetitive shooter games. The ranked mode offers more grueling combat and matches, where the players fight for the ultimate glory of climbing through the rank ladders.
How to Unlock Ranked in Spectre Divide
Thecompetitive modeinSpectre Divideis called Ranked Mode, and it will be accessible in the game starting onSeptember 6, 2024. However, players won’t automatically be able to access the mode, as you need to winfive casual matchesbefore getting access to this mode.
To begin playing ranked matches, navigate to the game’s main menu and select the match mode from the menu. To start the matchmaking process, choose Ranked from the list of options and click the Compete button.
Once the Ranked Mode is unlocked, you must placefive placement matchesto get your first rank in the game. All ranked matches have a win-by-two round requirement, similar to titles likeValorantorCounter-Strike 2. Once you have unlocked your first rank, you can start grinding out in eitherSolo RankedorTeam Rankedmode with your utmost effort to reach the top rank of the game.
Although two different ranks are available, there is onlyone matchmaking queuefor ranked matches inSpectre Divide. This means players competing for team ranking can face opponents playing solo-ranked. But when you play the solo rank, the opponents you face will be chosen according to the size of your party.
Playing and winning the matches will provide youSantai Ratings (SR), advancing your ranking. However, only winning matches get you Santai Rating points, and losing any ranking match can also cost you SR. The SR has the potential to shift between+40 and -40based on the outcome of each game.
All Ranks in Spectre Divide
One unique aspect of Spectre Divide’s rank system from the other FPS titles is its separate rank category for solo and team players. The solo rank is similar to the rank system of most other FPS titles, where your ratings can increase or decrease based on your performance in a match. The solo ranks are:
In contrast to the solo rank, the team rank assigns you a rating based on how well yourthree-man team performed as a whole. This ranking differs from the solo rank, and you must climb these ranks separately by selecting the Team Rank mode before entering the ranked queue. The team ranks are:
Rank Progress System Explained
Every rank inSpectre Dividehas a0-200 SR threshold, meaning that if you surpass it, you advance to the next rank; conversely, if you go below 0 SR, you are demoted to the lower rank. You will receive50 SR for every promotionyou get, which will help you acclimatize to the new rank and avoid being dropped immediately. If you earn more SR than is necessary, it will all becarried overand added to the following tier.
However, if you are demoted to a lesser rank, you willforfeit the extra -50 SRyou previously earned as a promotion bonus.
