Smite 2offers numerous game modes for its players to enjoy. The two main archetype of game modes inSmite 2areConquest and Arena, each offering an iconic experience from the original game with Gods that feel better than ever before.
The Gods inSmite 2are more flexible than inSmite, allowing a player to play a God they enjoy in numerous roles — perfect for when someone calls the role you had in mind. There are plenty ofnew Gods that could soon be inSmite 2to try out in these game modes.
Conquest
Conquest is the iconic MOBA style game mode consisting of playersplaying in numerous Laneswith jungles between them. Players will be able to call the role they wish to play, such as Solo or Jungle, to let their allies know their intentions. Each Lane has two towers per team, with each team’s base at the far ends. Players will need to carve a path to the other end of the map by destroying these key objectives — and then slaying the enemy Titan to secure victory.
Players in Lanes will gain the bulk of their gold and experience by destroying structures and slaying enemy minions. The player with the Jungle role will find and slay monsters they find in the jungle between these lanes. Should the Jungle role see an enemy God that is low on heath, they can ambush them to secure a kill — this is known as ganking.
There are two extremely powerful monsters in the jungles known as the Golden Fury and the Fire giant. The team that manages to slay either of these monsters will receive a bonus that can give them a massive advantage. are portals on the far sides of the map that a player can use to quickly traverse the map to the otherside.
There are plenty of Mordred is a great choice for both the Solo role and the Jungle role, so if a player really enjoys playing Mordred as the Jungle role, they can still build him to playthe Solo role if it gets called before they can claim it. Ranked Conquest Solo is the competitive format of the game, and will have players solo queing into one of two teams with the intent of climbing the leaderboards. Players should first familiarize themselves with the Conquest game mode before attempting this mode, as the other players in this mode can be quite intense.
Arena
Arena is a game mode that is more akin to that ofan arena shooter deathmatchstyle game mode. The map is significantly smaller than the one featured in Conquest, and players will fight enemy gods in a wide open area. There are no towers or enemy Titan to worry about, and this game mode can also help new players learn how to play Gods before taking them into Conquest. There will be a portal on either side of the map, and players will need to stop enemy minions from making it into their portal.
Underneath the timer will be a triple digit number. This is how many tickets each team will have. For every minion a team loses, they will also lose 1 ticket. They will also lose 1 ticket if an enemy minion makes it into their portal. During this time, both teams will attempt to kill players on the opposing side, and in doing so will cause that team to lose 5 tickets. Killing enough Gods on the enemy team will cause a Minotaur to spawn. If this Minotaur successfully makes it into the enemy portal, the enemy team will lose 15 tickets.
As the match progresses, special items called gifts will appear. These gifts grant various bonuses, so knowing how teammates are playing and coordinating who gets them can lead to a large advantage. Players will see a game mode called Arena VS AI, which has the exact same rules as Arena, except players will be matched against an AI team of Gods.
Practice
Before going into the Arena to get some first hand experience with a God, players should take them to the Practice mode. This is a very small map with all the elements one could find in a game of Conquest. This lets a player test out a God’s abilities against a single target, see how well that God can work in a lane, try out different Auto Builds to see which they enjoy most, and so forth. If a player finds that they are not too fond of the god they are using, they can try one of the many other options available onSmite 2’s roster.
Once the game fully launches, there will be plenty of Gods to unlock. However, players that get one of the Founders Editionswill have access to every current god, as well as every other future God down the line. Practice is not a game mode players should spend too much time in, and use it simply to test if a God is a character they would enjoy playing or put their time and attention into a different one.
Create Custom Lobby
Creating Custom Lobby will be perfect for players that want to create the perfect custom experience for them and their friends. Once they have selected this game mode, they will be able to send out invites to fill up as many places on either team as they want. Matches can be made public or private, and this can help ensure that the entire match is populated with players.
They can also invite spectators to watch the match or change the region of the server that the match is being played on. Players will then need to select how the match will play. Once everything is set up just the way the player wants, they will press the “Start Match” button. This mode is expected to become more customizable over the years as new features become available. This is perfect for friends looking to just have a good time together.
