Luckily, in the game, these terrifying creatures are typically confined to the Nether and can only reach the Overworld through deliberate player actions.
But in the movie’s teaser, entire hordes of Piglins and Ghasts can be seen roaming in the Overworld, likely serving as antagonists to the main characters. The teaser doesn’t explain how these mobs escaped the Nether, implying that they can travel between dimensions on their own. This would be a significant departure from the game’s mechanics. Then again, since it is possible in the game with player assistance, it may be the case that someone has let them loose on purpose.
4A Brand-New Portal

However, the movie’s teaser introduces a brand-new gateway that resembles the Nether Portal, but with a striking blue glow instead of the familiar purple. Since the game doesn’t feature any blue portals, this addition is original to the movie, sparking curiosity about its purpose and what role it might fill in the story.

The Film Isn’t Just Sticking To Items From The Game

Viewers can see evidence of this about 30 seconds into the teaser, where Jason Momoa’s character crafts a contraption that looks like some sort of double cauldron.
There is nothing similar to this contraption that appears in the game, so it implies that fans may see even more original items in the movie. Given the practically countless number of items the filmmakers could have picked from the game, seeing them deviate like this may be a bummer for many fans who were excited to see those items on the big screen. However, it’s still interesting to see what’s to come.

When Steve is finally revealed near the end ofA Minecraft Movie’steaser, Jack Black’s portrayal hardly resembles the original character. Aside from the blue shirt (which isn’t an exact match to the game version) Steve’s appearance in the movie seems to be drastically different, which is proving to be a controversial change for many fans.
