Zols are one of the weaker monsters inZelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and you’ll need to learn three types of Echoes to complete a side quest. “A Curious Child” becomes available after you clear Hyrule Castle of its rifts. A young boy will ask to see a regular Zol, an Ignizol, and a Hydrozol. Of course, it would be dangerous and tedious to drag a Zol across Hyrule just for one side quest. Luckily, the Echo ability allows you to replicate objects and enemies, making it “safer” for Hyrule’s residents. You’ll need to learn the Echo for each Zol and show them to the child. It’s an easy side quest that you can complete before continuing yourEchoes of Wisdomjourney.
A Curious Child Walkthrough
Where to Find Every Type of Zol
After Zelda gets her new look and has her reputation restored, you can roam Hyrule Castle and Hyrule Castle Town to your heart’s content. Before you leave Castle Town, you should look to the southwest corner. There’s a house with a brown roof in front of the well you used to enter the castle during the rift. There’s a young boy witha “red” quest icon over his head. Speak to him to start “A Curious Child” side quest.
Part 1: Zol Location in Echoes of Wisdom
Part 2: Ignizol Location in Echoes of Wisdom
Warp to Suthorn Village andfollow the eastern roadthat you tookto the Suthorn Ruins. If you look at the northern wall, you’ll see a cave entrance. Inside, you’ll find regular Zols and an Ignizol. Defeat the Ignizol to Learn its Echo. Since Ignizol’s light everything on fire, you’ll want to be careful. If Zelda gets burned, tap the R-button to put the flames out. You can refer to the exact location on the image above (Zelda icon).
Part 3: Hydrozol Location in Echoes of Wisdom
Hydrozols, as their name indicates, can be found near or in areas with water. Because of this, you may find one when you embark towards Jabul Ruins. From Seesyde Village, swim southwest to Zora Coveand you’ll finda cave entrance. You’ll know if this is the right one if you can see the shipwreck a little way south of the cave. Go inside, and you’ll findall three types of Zols. Hydrozols will grow larger if they touch water, but they’re still pretty weak. A strong Echo should be enough towipe them out in one hit. This cave can be tricky to spot, so refer to Zelda’s icon on the above (map) image for its exact location.
Hydrozols can also be found in the Faron Wetlands during the “A Rift in the Faron Wetlands” main quest. However, if you want to register the Hydrozol as soon as possible, get the one from the Zora Cove Cave.
A Curious Child Reward
What to Do with Might Crystals?
The reward for “A Curious Child” is a Might Crystal. You can use these toupgrade your Swordfighter Form(ie: energy, sword, bow, and bombs). You’ll also need to complete this side quest in order to unlock the late-game quest: “An Out-There Zol.” This quest requires the completion of several other quests before you can find the mysterious Gizmol. Unlike “A Curious Child,” “An Out-There Zol” rewards you with a Piece of Heart if you manage to complete it.
