Generating power can help to make things easier in7 Days To Die.Things like generators and solar banks can be used to power up all sorts of items, such as lights and turrets. Whilesetting up and using powered devicesmay seem difficult at first glance, it is actually relatively straightforward.
One of the power generating appliances that players can get their hands on is the solar bank. As the name suggests, solar banks are handy devices that use the sun’s energy to generate power. This guide will go through all there is to know about getting solar banks and how to use them.
How To Get A Solar Bank In 7 Days To Die
Unfortunately, solar banks can’t be crafted by the player. The only ways to obtain them are via traders and by opening solar bank bundles.Solar bank bundles can be obtained either as mission rewards or inside high-end loot containers that are commonly found at the end of any hard POI.
Buying one of these from the traders isn’t cheap, soyou’ll need to save up your Dukes. Not only that, but the chances for a trader to sell one are pretty rare, especially during the early stages of the game. The higher your loot stage, the higher the chances of you finding one of these devices being sold by a trader.
Your loot stage will naturally increase while you play, however, if you invest some points in theDaring Adventurer perk.
The cost of a solar bank will vary, depending on a combination of perks, armor, and consumables. If you invest some points in better barter, and pop some Grandpa’s Awesome Sauce while wearing the preacher hat, then you may reduce the price by quite a bit.
How To Get Solar Cells In 7 Days To Die
Solar cells are even more costly than a solar bank. These little things are required to get the solar bank working. The higher the level of the solar cells, then the better the power output when used inside the solar bank. The same goes for quantity.
You can place up to6 solar cells inside a solar bank.
You get solar cells in the same way that you get solar banks —through traders and the solar bank bundle.Just like solar banks, solar cells are high-tier items. It is very unlikely that you’ll come across these early in your playthrough. During the first few weeks, it’s best to settle for generator banks, as these can be crafted at a workbench after you’veread a total of 25 Wiring 101 magazines.
How To Use A Solar Bank In 7 Days To Die
Once you have a solar bank and at least one solar cell, you can start producing solar power at your base. To use it, place it somewhere that getsdirect sunlight.
These solar banks won’t work if they aren’t getting any sunlight.
Also, solar banks willonly work during the day. At night, anything that is running off a solar bank will stop working. Because of this, it’s best to either use a solar bank for items that you’ll only need during the day or have a regular generator set up that can take over power usage at night.
To connect a wire to a solar bank, you’ll need to use aWire Tool. These can be looted, purchased from traders, or given out as a mission reward. When holding a Wire Tool, you’ll be able to connect cables and see the current flow of all objects that are wired up. Once you put your Wire Tool away, any cables that are connected will become invisible. All connected power devices will still work; you just won’t be able to see any wires.
